Any suggestions on tire size for the Grids in size 18x9.5 for my 04 STi? I like the fitment of the ones in this pic and it wouldnt surprise me if the car belongs to someone on here. Thanks for the help.

This question is getting asked alot lately so people don't feel like answering... if you did a little bit of searching you would find what sizes will work. It comes down to preference too if you are looking for a more stretched tire like the one in the pic you posted or if you have enough fender mods/camber/etc to push a wider tire.
235/40/18 is extremely common for that wheel (like the car in your pic)
255/35/18 is a great fit and will be more beefy depending on which tire you pick specifically (every section width is different)
265/35/18 will be squared off on that wheel and will be a tight fit no matter the offset really... so you will have to be dedicated to really wanting to run a big tire just for street purposes
I'm sure you have seen the aggressive thread in the member's gallery that I started a while back. You can easily search that thread with the "search this thread" function for 18x9.5 Grids and come up with a load of info.

i run 265 on my 18x9.5 grids, and have no problems with rubbing at all, i do have all my fenders rolled, the rears are flat with a pull and fronts have a slight roll and i'm running a 5mm spacer to clear the brembos. i plan on running a 275 tire next time around. i think a 255 would fit without much work. even then it has a little stretch to it. but should be a relatively easy fit. a 235 is really too stretched for my taste so i would stay away from that size.
How low do you wanna go? If you want to slam it, you're going to need to stretch. Imagine if that car was on squared off tires . . . the fenders would be sitting on the tires.

i have the cobb sport springs on the car so it sits (i think) about 1 5/8" lower.... i had been looking at the 255/35 size but i knew there were lots of options so i wanted to hear from someone with experience with that size wheel... thanks for taking the time

265/35/18 would be a lot of width and work well (25.3" is a bit taller too which is nice for STi). I don't know how people get away with 235. That's barely on the rim. Why get such absurdly wide rims if you run that width anyway? That said, 265 width at what will likely be +33 or +35 offset to clear the brembos is not very fender friendly at all. To do it properly, you're looking at a complete cut with new lips and a repaint. I'll assume you're on coilovers or something else really stiff too since your tire will essentially be directly under the stock fender location. You're sacrificing a ton of offset though for these puppies, might as well get some tire width out of em. That, or just admit you could care less how it actually handles ;)
Of course, you could just go with a more sane offset/rim width. I manage 255 width with stock fenders by having a lot more offset than you. Yeah, sorry. I'll shut up.
