View Full Version : Dry Crank? help quick! Ethan 04-11-2001, 07:59 PM Could someone please tell me how to dry crank the engine. I don't want the engine started at all. if I pull the plugs out of the distributer cap will that allow me to do it? Craig W 04-11-2001, 08:08 PM That'd work, just make sure you keep track of which plug wire goes where. Or you could pull the plug wires from the plugs on the heads and just leave 'em dangling. That'd be easier to keep track of which goes where. Ethan 04-11-2001, 08:13 PM Wow that was fast, thanks. ColinL 04-11-2001, 08:14 PM Unplug the coil pack. (there's no distributor) If you have stock plug wires, they are numbered 1-4. 8Complex 04-11-2001, 08:15 PM I take it this is for the initial clearing of burrs in a newly-built engine? Avenger 04-11-2001, 08:16 PM Make sure you don't crank too long, becuase if you crank too long a lot of fuel will be sprayed into your engine and will flow to your cat. This could case a melt down of your cat when hot enough. Best thing to do is to pull the connector off the cam sensor. |
