I just recieved some 60mm greddy sm-i gauges with the daisy chain and the defi style control unit..

they are black with the green backlight...:mad: i thought they were amber:confused:
But Now I would like to change the bulb to a amber led or bulb cover ..

:huh:problem is i cant seem to get them apart.. There are two small allen heads on the back, along with all of the sensor connectors and then the hole thing is incased in a black cup that is mounted to the face/glass.

I would like to also paint the gauge faces silver to match the 04sti Cluster. I have basically changed all bulbs to red in the car...

how do i seperate the gauge cup from the face plate/trim with out jaggin them up...

I tried to push the trim out slowly in circles around the trim but was unable to even budge them.

Any help would be great because i am :confused:

This must be the lost art or gauge disassembly ....

Does anybody know how to change a light bulb in the gauge.

I think they pressfit the gauges in the factory.
The bezel is formed around the gauge cup, like a lid is swagged on a tin can.
That is the way with most gauges, like Defi and Omori, so I am afraid the Greddy ones are more or less the same.
