I have a '04 STi and I want to do the halo mod for my head lights. I know how to install them and all that good stuff. But I saw a couple people that painted the halos red or blue. Now if its painted blue will they light up the road blue or will they still light up the road white? Also do you leave the OEM headlights in still or take them out? And Id assume the headlight height adjustment would have no affect on the halos right?

how would you see at night if you take out the oem headlights?


blue/red lights are not a good idea. dont run them on the road. i almost got arrested by a small town cop because i had blue leds in my parking lights. he claimed he could arrest me for "operating as an illegal emergency vehicle"

Should be ok you can take out the high beams you just won't have them again the halos generally go in the high beam portion, there are 4 lights parking/turn/high/low, the round part is the high thats generally where they go on my04/05's cuz its round already.

I wouldn't paint the ccfl's they'd get hot but they make them diff colors if you want but dude just stay white it will look cool. You pick what other lights you want to run off of by tapping its power source. ie if you want it to go with the parking lights tap power and solder or splice... thats what most usually do.
