All,
In the next two months I may be getting a new car. Well, I am torn between the Acura Integra Type R and Subaru Impreza WRX. One of the main conclusions I have come to is that the Impreza would allow for great modifications to its engine, but how is the aftermarket for it so far? Another thing, how is the build quality of Subaru and do the cars last? Feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So your either planning on a new Subaru Impreza WRX or a 2 year olf Acura Integra Type R in a year or so. Or are you thinking about the Integra replacement the RS-X and hoping the Type R version will be out in a year?
The distinction here really changes all of the variables you need to think about.

Zahnster: Well, I had extremely good luck in finding a Nighthawk Black ITR 2000 with only dealer miles on it, but it may not be in the dealers lot in June. The RS-X is garbage, I don't like it one bit. Do you know how the aftermarket scene is on the WRX?

Super Street did a comparison of the WRX and Integra Type R last month i think...they said stuff like..the type r is still good for an old car...but the WRX has the makings to be the next cult car...stuff like that...

If I were you, I'd get the ITR, and turbo/supercharge it. Because you seem to be living in FL where snow is not an issue. I got the Impreza because snow was the big issue (middle of nowhere upstate NY).
How about the new Sentra with 6 spd gearbox?

tmat3: Due to the ITR's high compression superchargers and turbochargers are not able to run at high boost levels. Most I've read, people usually run around 8 lbs and thats good, but not as good as the stock WRX turbo running 14.5 or something, right? But again, do you know how the aftermarket situation for the WRX is?

The aftermarket for the WRX is going to be great. There already exists a ton of stuff for the 2.0l turbo motor in other parts of the world and parts are starting to show up here in the USA. Not to mention high quality suspension and brake upgrades.
You'll be able to get anything you want from somebody, somewhere.

I would say go for the mazda rx-8 http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif that car is pimp...or the rs-x...
hmm get the itr and you will be just like everyone else IMO. I got my car (instead of a '98 gsr) b/c literally no one in this area has one...do you like to be LIKE everyone else?
Find a mkIV supra twin turbo...those are badass & you can up them to 400+ hp easily.
