ok well to start i swapped my 05 wrx to 06 sti engine. kept the wrx manifold injectors and wrx ecu, and whatnot. well i had a massive oil leak at the oil pump. and there wasnt an original subaru timing belt on it (only 2000 miles on the motor) it concerned me. so i pulled the motor back out and tore it down all the way to the crank to inspect everything. replaced the main and rod bearings with cosworth bearings(stock size) did not remove the pistons. went to the tuner the other day and the computer is pulling timing at 5500 rpm and up, and couldnt fix it with tune. (the turbo is also shot) has anyone had this happen before?

thanks,
Thomas

I mean, like what? Sounds like you have a mystery motor on your hands. Where did it come from? What was is used for before you got it? For the ECU to pull timing, there must be a reason.
