Hey guys,

Ive search the forums and look at a large amount of posts regarding boost gauge installations but non of them seem to cover the new SPT gauge.

I am specifically trying to install it in a 07 STI.

I had no problems with all the mechanical bits. Intercooler came off fine and I was ableto run the vac line with out an issue.

The problem came when I tried to hook up the electrical componants.

The wiring harness is not like any that I was able to find on the boards. It is clearly not made for the 06-07MYs. It has the light hooked to a small circuit board then it has two wire bundles going off of the circuit board.

The First wire bundle has 2 wires red and black and is connected to a plug(that I would guess would fit right in on a 08-09)
The Second wire bundle has 3 wires black, purple, and brown again connected to a plug.

I've since cut the plugs off and exposed the copper of each wire. My problem is I have no clue what to tap into. I'm not sure weather the first wire bundle is power and ground or the second one is. I would like to have the gauge behave like the rest of the gauge cluster and come on all the time as well as dim. I believe the little circuit board would allow the gauge to be dimmed but really I have no clue if that's true or not.

If it was just two wires running off the light I think I would be ok. But since its 5 wires in 2 bundles off of a circut board I'm at a bit of a loss.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I'll try to provide some pictures tomorrow once I pull that harness out from behind my dash.

Today when I started the car up for some reason when I turn the key to the on position the horn chirps 3 times in rapid succession. Anyone have any idea why that would be happening? I can't find anything relating to that being an error code or anything.

So I ended up taking it over to Garage GT in San Diego. Super helpful guys over there.

We discovered when we cut the heat shrink off of the board that on the board it's self weas printed what each wire was for.

For anyone else planning on installing this gauge themselves on a older than 08-09 model here's a list of what goes where:

1 black
1 white
Attached to the LED

Purple Illumination +
Brown Bright
Black Ground

Red Ignition +
Black Ground

I just want to thank the guys over at Garage GT for the help and the fair price on the labor. Also for allowing me to hang out in the garage while everything was going down.

As for the horn chirping turns out the security system just needed to be reset.
