I'm just curious if anyone has purchased this book. I admit, I'm tempted to buy the ebook version, as it's only $10.
After following the consumer protection company link he advertises on his website to assure you his book is legit, you can read the customer's comments about his book.
While the majority of reviews are favorable, it's interesting to find out that in the end, his book is slanted toward Amsoil products... and he is an Amsoil dealer. But he defends himself saying that he did not mention in the book that he's a Amsoil seller, and he's not trying to get you to buy Amsoil products from him.

I bet the book includes all those charts and tables from Amsoil's website which show beyond a shadow of a doubt ( surprise! ) that Amsoil is the best oil in the world.
Go ahead, spend the $10. I bet if you can sign up five friends to buy the book, he'll give you a cut. And if those five friends each sign up five friends... you'll all get rich! Maybe then you'll get to wear a little pin which signifies how good you are at duping others. :D

but seriously jon, amsoil is good oil (perhaps not the best, perhaps not even the best per $ spent) with some rather distasteful multi-level marketing distribution.

Absolutely! Many people find it lubricates their engines just fine.
It's just very frustrating trying to dig up useful information about oil on the web. There are a lot of self-proclaimed oil experts spouting off about this and that who turn out to be Amsoil "associates" working undercover. It's deceptive and it sucks, even though it may not be technically illegal.

I read it and thought it had a lot of useful information, although I wasn't really knocked out by it. It's not really an exhaustive reference on lubricants, but seems to be relatively fair-minded, considering. Amsoil is good oil, Redline, Mobil 1, Neosynthetic, all seem quite good, with hardly a dissenting voice.

Just remember that all oils are made to conforn to the same SAE, ISO, ASME, ASTM specs so they should function the same.
However experience show's that some aren't as good as others. That said after seeing the valve trains of several Taurus SHOs, my previous car, I would say stay away from Penzoil because it carmelizes in the heads. Several other brands of oil do this as well but it never seems to happen with Mobil 1 or Mobil mineral or either Castrol. Take this for what it's worth but the SHO engines is another high reving just as hot engine.
