With every aspect of the shifter and bushings improved, it’s now time to improve the shift feeling and interior style with a weighted stainless steel shift knob. What is the advantage of a weighted shift knob over the stock unit you might ask? Once put into motion, the weighted shift knob carries more kinetic energy than stock due to it's extra mass. It is therefore easier to engage the next gear as the shift knob wants to stay in motion, essentially helping the shifter engage the next gear. This results in a far smoother shifting action.

A6 Leopard
On of the most popular shift knob with the WRX enthusiasts lately is the A6 Leopard weighted shift knob (http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftknobs/a6-leopard-shiftknobs.html). Featuring a similar shape as the M1 Abrams but with a bottom collar for people who like more room between the shift knob and the shift boot, this shift knob weighs 485 grams for a positive shift feeling.
