General Motors was forced to delay the introduction of the 2010 Buick (http://www.leftlanenews.com/buick.htm) LaCrosse when money dried up late last year, and now the car’s roll out is being delayed due to a quality concerned. GM has already shipped about 400 examples of the LaCrosse, but new shipments will be on hold for the next few weeks.
General Motors sales head Mark LaNeve revealed to ABC News that shipments of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse were being put on hold because of “quality issues”. LaNeve failed to elaborate on the quality issue, but did say they “were not serious but were enough to delay us three or four weeks while we made sure they were fixed so that our customers didn’t have any problems.”
The 2010 LaCrosse is a major component of the revitalization of Buick, so it’s probably for the best that GM stopped shipment to address any quality issues. GM is banking on the new LaCrosse to take away sales from Acura (http://www.leftlanenews.com/acura.htm) and Lexus (http://www.leftlanenews.com/lexus.htm), and it also hopeful the new sedan will be able to reduce the brand’s average buyer age from 68 to somewhere in the 40-50 rangehttp://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-halts-2010-buick-lacrosse-shipments-over-quality-issues.html

[QUOTE] General Motors Co. said Tuesday the rollout of its new 2010 Buick LaCrosse is being delayed for a few weeks due to quality concerns.
Speaking to analysts and reporters during a conference call on August sales, GM's vice president of U.S. sales Mark LaNeve said about 300 to 400 of the cars were shipped in August, but further deliveries are on hold until the company works out what it called "quality issues."
The company wouldn't offer specifics on exact problems with the LaCrosse, but LaNeve said they "were not serious but were enough to delay us three or four weeks while we made sure they were fixed so that our customers didn't have any problems."
GM is currently advertising the LaCrosse, a midsize luxury sedan that is designed to compete with Acura, Lexus and Toyota models. Its marketing campaign, called "Take a Look at Me Now," will feature television spots, as well as ads that run in cinemas and digital media.

ABC reports that “General Motors Co. said Tuesday the rollout of its new 2010 Buick LaCrosse is being delayed for a few weeks due to quality concerns. Speaking to analysts and reporters during a conference call on August sales, GM’s vice president of U.S. sales Mark LaNeve said about 300 to 400 of the cars were shipped in August, but further deliveries are on hold until the company works out what it called ‘quality issues.’” RF just got off the phone with Buick Communications Manager Michelle Bunker, who categorically denied her boss’s assertion. “I don’t know what Mr. LaNeve said,” Bunker admitted. “But we’re shipping cars to dealers every day.” Well, we know what he said . . .
“(It’s) probably not the end of the world because we need to build awareness around having this new LaCrosse,” LaNeve told the telephonically assembled throngs.
Awareness? Multiple quality issues is not the thing to be building “awareness” around. Still, LaNeve insisted the production setbacks “were not serious but were enough to delay us three or four weeks while we made sure they were fixed so that our customers didn’t have any problems.”
Bunker was slightly more forthcoming about the exact quality issues involved. “They surround fit and finish. For example, where the headliner meets the sunroof. There’s no room for error.” Bunker says that the LaCrosse production problems—I mean “issues” are proof that GM’s committed to getting it right. And it’s no biggie, really.
“LaCrosse production isn’t ramping-up as fast as we would have liked. But we will be going to full production on September 14 as planned.”
Good luck with that.

GM concerned about quality *gasp*
that's unfair, sometimes a car does slip out that is very good, but they are only overshadowed by Chrysler in the ****ty car department.
