teal green impreza L (not new)
big subaru WRT stickers everywhere
straight pipe (no exhaust)

Matched speed for like 10 minutes on interstate he wouldn't even look at me =(

I would prefer a quality frame... even if means that they might cost a little bit more. Maybe even include the i-Club logo (?)

The place I have in mind specializes in screen printing on plastic items, for advertising/etc. I have seen a lot of their work and it is all high-quality... i actually had a frisbee from them (given to me at the press on regardless rally as a promo) for a good 10 years of use and abuse and the printing never came off of it... it was even chewed through by my friend dog and the printing was still on the chewed area... good stuff. I dont know about metal though. I'll look into it as wqell as pricing tonight.

The WRX is heavy enough as it is, I would prefer plastic. Shiny license plate frames just says poser to me.

this is a good idea, I'd take one for my impreza, and it's alot better than stupid stickers, if it came down to it, I'd get the license plate than the sticker. Stickers say ricer to me no matter what they say.

There's a couple of places online that will do this, as well. check out www.autoplates.com (http://www.autoplates.com)

They can do an order of 200 silk-screened plastic frames for a set-up fee of $35 and 0.95 per frame (for one-color printing). They also do molded and die-cast frames, but they're significantly more expensive to set up and produce.

Jordan, that is what I was planning to do with a local place, once I find out how much it will cost.. i can save on the first shipping charge by picking them up...
If i get enough interest for 25 frames initially I will do this.

edit: forgot to add, already somewhere between 15-20 frames, so this is a pretty sure thing.

edit again: oh yeah and of course this would all be with imprezer's permission, without his permission to use the logo(s) and copyrights I won't do anything.

Maybe even have the printing on the frame available in all the main colors of the Impreza, Silverthorne, Blue, White, Red, etc...

You should check and find out if the company you are thinking of will do them in multiple color combinations, and how small an order you can place. I'm guessing that they might be willing to do multiple colors of frame, but they would probably want to keep the printing to a single color unless you place a large order. I called today and, unfortunately, the owner is just getting over open heart surgery so he couldn't help me and there wasnt anyone else around, asked me to call back tomorrow so i can talk to someone who could help... so tomorrow I should be able to come up with a price, he did say that we can do multiple frame colors and maybe multiple text colors but there would be a "clean up" charge for additional text colors to switch the colors of the screens, that's to be expected. we can do metal or plastic in many colors apparently, more and better details tomorrow... i'll see if they have flat colors in metal and not just shiny colors as metal obviously is stronger than plastic...

Yeah.. based upon the reaction around here, this WILL happen.. black with white lettering will be the first/main color.. i'm also picturing dark blue, grey and a burgundy color and the option of white or yellow text... but the multiple text colors are still a maybe.. planning for lettering like the "north american subaru impreza owners club" up top, or the 2.5RS lettering... if not just plain block lettering like the one you got from the dealer... also not positive about the I-club logos yet.. i'll have to see how it works out size-wise. i am shooting to come in below $10 shipped.. hopefully closer to $5 but i don't know how much shipping will kill me yet.

Hey, I'm excited about the plate frames, but doesn't everyone think that we should all wait for the new logo to come out? Or does that not matter. I would think that if all these plates were made and a new logo for the club were ever decided, we'd all feel pretty dumb. I would like to bring back the contest for a new logo to print onto the plate frames. However, it's all based on your opinions.

I'd sport a pair and I know aobut 3-4 other local subies that would do the same.
I of course like yellow font as it fit's into my theme, but I don't think it is a good idea. Now silver lettering on black I like best. Then it is like the SWRT SUBARU banners from last season. I'd prefer silver over white, but I'd probablly still get one in white font....

I don't know why I'm replying to this, it seems as though it's going to happen. I would also like to put in my two cents and order FOUR frames. I would also like white on black. There should be NO impreza on the frame because one of the cars these will be going on is a Legacy, though I still want to show what's up. Let's get this done!!!

I am going to get a sample done, based upon the graphics above and the suggestions to delete http://, i am reluctant to take out "Impreza" because wether you drive an impreza or not, the name of the club is the norht american subaru impreza owners club, there is still time to work that out. once I have a sample made Imprezer has aske that I submit it to him for approval, and if he approves it I will have a run printed. When i recieve that first run I will post on the private classifieds forum for people to place orders. Therefore, now that I know there is enough interest, I don't need anymore "I'll take one" posts in this thread, as the general forum is not the place for that.

Just to remind people, this is not a sure thing yet, but there is a very good chance it will go through.

PS: I will attempt to contact everyone who said they want one or more on this thread if and when I get them, so you haven't wasted your time posting here.

What wcbjr posted is just about perfect. If they can be similar to those, I would like FOUR frames.

A couple of things I liked about it:

It's just i-club.com. If people don't know what '.com' refers to, they just haven't been paying attention. Also, the bottom 'impreza' text is not too large to put on an Outback Limited. If anyone gets close enough to read it, I'll probably have a chance to explain the connection. Of course, it will be perfect for the silver WRX wagon I have on order.

if/when this goes through I plan to have an initial run of 250 white on black. that is the classic color scheme, and although i really like the yellow on black myself, white is more universal. truthfully, based upon the response here I don't expect the first allotment to last long. it will probably take me longer to physically put them in envelopes and dump them at the PO than it takes to sell them... people want two, three, four. but it'll just take a phone call to get more made up, luckily. on monday i will know what i can do about colors etc in future runs.

Just out of curiosity, is anyone profiting from this, and if so has Imprezer or Nick or whoever this site is officially registered to approved it? Not to insult anyone, but I don't think someone should be selling someone elses idea(the I club name). This is the type of thing someone associated with the I club should be running, not just any I club member.

Again not to insult anyone, I was just curious if this has all been worked out.

I do not plan to make any profit off these... I may even end up taking a loss on the shipping if need be to get them to some of our members.

I have talked with imprezer about using the i-club copyrights and logo etc, and once i get a real sample printed up it will be up to him as to whether I have any more made, thank you for the concern but i already thought of this http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

(on a side note... IMHO i don't see any reason for mr imprezident to disallow this, it's by the members and for the members, and it gets the word out. I think I can get these made up pretty quickly - like within 10 days.

The hard part of this whole deal would be taking and fulfilling orders - that is a major PITA. I'll get 250 frames made up, if someone can handle the retail side. I'll be at the Rim of the World Rally this weekend if any So Calif folks wanna discuss.

Also, I'd want Alex's and Nick's approval b4 doing anything. I sent em a PM.
