View Full Version : What did you do tonight? me? I got carjacked..
So it happened...had close to 60 cds inside the car...among other things...
It happens that these three mofos in a v6 accord were parked facing the wrong way on the street where my office is. So i leave work, then get on the express way and call my gf, a few miles down, i took my exit and i see the accord flying behind me, and im still on the phone so i just move and let it pass, cos im thinking "f|ck this, im not in the mood to race anyone" ...well bad call.. once they get in front of me.. they stop COLD in front of me, right then and there im like F|CK. so i hang up the phone in the middle of the call and throw the car in reverse.. while this is going on keep in mind once the accord stopped , two of them got out, so when my car starts moving backwards i stare down the barrel of a gun...i just shut it down and proceed to gather my celphone and pocket it...and get the f|ck out, by then the guy is pulling me otu of the car..gets into it asks me if i have an anticarjack system...i yell no...and they proceed to leave...
So this is how it feels like to be carjacked... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
I only hope that if they find the car, it can be totaled...and that i can maybe recover some of the stuff that was inside... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
I was planning to sell my Si for a WRX...but right now its too early and i cant be without a car until march http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif

MichiganRS 01-17-2001, 09:30 PM I thought that was gonna happen to me last week my girl and I went to meijers at like 3 a.m and we see this older accord pull up with some rice like things on it well when we go to meijers(big store like kmart) we waste alot oftime and we notice these three guys were in there as long as us and seem to go everywhere we are and then when we leave holy crap here they come well I slam all the **** in my trunk start the car and fly the F out of there I am so curious if they were upto no good but I guess its better that we got away in time just in case. Well I hope I never here of this happening to anyone but if it does I say if there is no gun lock your doors and fly balls to the police station or call 911 on the cell
Akiata 01-17-2001, 09:48 PM Sorry to hear that. If you really want a WRX can't you just buy a cheap car until then? I know you won't look cool but you will be able to get into a car that you really want. Just a thought.
wow, that's crazy
glad you're ok.
illmatic 01-17-2001, 09:56 PM Ohh man that sucks. A lot of people in San Diego get their hondas stolen. THey even tried to steal my friends STOCK Hatchback DX.
jdOgg3355 01-17-2001, 09:57 PM We're all glad that you are OK! Hopefully things go alright in getting...or not getting...the car back. If you absolutely can't wait for the WRX, just get an RS. You'll be happy with that.
Yeah...Yeah...so it won't be the best thing out in a couple of months. But don't turn into those suckers who will be clowning on RS owners when they get rid of theirs for the WRX. Thats weak!!!!!
glenstiles 01-17-2001, 10:00 PM Oh crap!!! That really sucks. Glad you are okay, it really could have been far worse. What in the hell are people thinking?
Glen
sspriest 01-17-2001, 10:02 PM Damm that really sucks. Glad to hear your are ok. Also good thing you keeped cool. Hell it sucks to get your car stolen even worse if you got hurt in the process.
Take care hope all will work out.
fellfrosch7 01-17-2001, 10:05 PM It's a good thing you stopped when you saw the barrel... I don't know if I would have had the balls to do that. Well, it's not even an issue of balls, but thinking (relatively) clearly. Anyway... Glad you're OK, and best of luck with insurance/car recovery.
BigElm 01-17-2001, 10:16 PM Damn those punk bastards!!!!
Glad you're ok...Where did it happen??? Santurce???
Pipercub 01-17-2001, 10:16 PM May their crack babies die in their arms.
Spit.
gtguy 01-17-2001, 10:22 PM In the whole car vs. your life equation, you made the right call in sacrificing the replaceable one. I know that's of little consolation now that the adrenaline has worn off but trust me, it's tough to argue with guns. I've seen the damage they can do.
Kevin
BigElm : actually , i was exiting "las americas" interstate, on the roosevelt ave. exit...
it happened on the f|cking exit!
J-Spec 01-17-2001, 10:24 PM Dude that's nuts.... no offense but when I looked where you're from, I thought something like that is possible.... Anyways next time.... slam on the gas and ram their ass (hey they're gonna take the car anyways righ?) that way they'll have trouble getting out.... as soon as I saw them do something like that I'd of floored it into their backside.... (with seatbelt on of course....) then proceed to back up fast (or if I pushed them to one side.... speed past them) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
that serious sucks dude.... I feel you man, sorry that had to happen to you.... I wish there was something to do, that really really sucks....
jean-marc poitras 01-17-2001, 10:30 PM Here is an old fart's opinion about this.....
It is a sad day in hell when people have to own something that does not belongs to them..
the fact that something like that happened to you is a sad remeinder that there will always be scum where ever you live and when this happends to a fellow clubbist we all feel for you....every body said it before.....glad you are ok and truth will make it to the top
sorry man
jean-marc
Damian 01-17-2001, 10:31 PM Did they have a license plate?
once i hit their cars, two of them got out, by the time i had my car in reverse, i had a gun pointed at me...do you actually think i shouldve risked getting shot thru the winshield almost point blank?
spt_impreza 01-17-2001, 10:32 PM s*&t that sucks man........sorry to hear about that. good that you are alright. i hope hey catch those guys and beat them senseless.
spt
Keiho 01-17-2001, 10:49 PM Wowzers....that's pretty insane!
Lord-Atak 01-17-2001, 10:51 PM Thats some Fu{k>d up stuff man. Good to here your ok though. But nothing can replace a car when you dont want it to be replaced.
Glad your ok! Good luck in getting everything back to normal.
JJTheSubeDriver 01-17-2001, 10:55 PM Good thing you are alright. Your car is not worth your life, we have to remember that if we are ever in the same situation. Hopefully the little cowards get caught and dealt with harsly. What goes around comes around SO THEY WILL GET THEIR'S EVENTUALLY!!
JJ
mykrrrr 01-17-2001, 10:56 PM Man, that sux big time...
Puerto Rico isn't that big...find them and F'em up...
That's why I wish IL/Chicago had conseal & carry laws...
-myk
Yeah, that really sucks big time...Though it's true, the glad thing is that you're ok...I certainly hope that they get what's coming to them very very soon (and you get your car back!)
slim speedy 01-17-2001, 11:24 PM What are you people talking about?? Run away? Ram them? With a gun pointed in your face? Please if this ever happens to anyone here, please just give them your car and get away. There is no way a car is worth risking your life like that, thats what insurance is for.
its been said, but i am really glad you are ok, and that you didnt try to fight them. man that sucks. pisses me off, and makes me a bit weary.
well, best of luck.
josh
AlphaDog 01-17-2001, 11:30 PM <rage>
This is why I arm myself. Maybe it wouldn't have helped in this situation, but by God it's better to have it just in case. Who knows, you might could have gotten to it before they got out once you realized what was going on. That just pisses me off beyond belief. I can't imagine how you feel. BTW, if you're looking into personal protection now, I recommend a Taurus Millenium sub-compact, in a .40 caliber or 9mm.
I guess us Si owners just have to watch out since the ghetto trach wants our rides, but doesn't want our jobs to earn them.

thehanna 01-17-2001, 11:33 PM ProgSi,
You did the right thing. The stupidest thing to do would be to try to run them over or pull a gun. Too many people get killed over a car. Better to live to drive another day. The folks who are dumb enough to car jack, are dumb enough to pull the trigger without thinking twice.
kastle 01-17-2001, 11:36 PM damn that sucks
Adrian128 01-17-2001, 11:40 PM Sorry to hear that mate.. without insulting any Americans or anything like that, when I hear things like this, it makes me really glad I live in Australia. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
tabolau 01-17-2001, 11:46 PM I couldn't imgine people jacked your car like this. Like others said, glad you are OK and didn't fight back. Sorry to hear that.
Henry
Lifino 01-18-2001, 12:12 AM Man that blows. There is one thing that I hate most, and that's when someone messes with another's transportation. Whether car, shoes, bike, horse, no matter. I'm glad your okay.
It's a good thing you didn't try to run.
I have a friend at work who was carjacked a few years ago. He was driving a Camaro, was at a drive up pay phone when they showed up in the parking lot. He had the car running and when they jumped out of the car he dropped the phone and slamed it in drive(AT) They pulled out automatic guns as he left the parking lot and opened fire. They shot down into the car as he passed them and followed him out into the street to shoot the car as he drove away. He'd be dead if he didn't drive in the ghetto position, there was a bullet that went throught the center of the drivers head rest, and a hole in the left sholder of his jacket too. It wasn't for another couple of minutes till he realized he'd been shot. Three in the leg, it must have been when they shot down into the car... He drove himself to the emergency room.
I never saw the car but some of the other people at work went out to see it. They say it was riddeled with holes... The ones on his body are the only bullet holes I've ever seen.
Yotsuya 01-18-2001, 12:49 AM Bad deal, I bet the adrenaline rush was something else, though. I stopped for a rollover accident last week on the highway (broken bones and pain, but nothing that can't heal; I still don't know how exactly she flipped a Mustang on the freeway), and found I couldn't drive off until I took a minute or two to calm down. And that experience can't be one tenth what you went through, with guns in your face and all.
Good luck with your car; hope the fellows who did it end up in a world of hurt.
Penphoe 01-18-2001, 01:04 AM Man, that bites. Those people will get what they deserve -- trust me. Glad to hear that you're alive and not hurt!
LaterZ!
Darren!!
hacman 01-18-2001, 01:09 AM Man.... I'm sorry to hear bout that! I just got my scooby, and I'd hate to be in the same situation! Just glad it's only the car they took, and not your life!
Hope you get it back soon!!!!!!!
Swivel1000 01-18-2001, 01:16 AM very very smart move
we pay for insurance for a reason. we pay taxes that go to police funding for a reason.
its a good thing you realized that and quite possibly saved your life.
-matt
Mizen 01-18-2001, 01:39 AM Man, that seriously sucks dude... I'm glad to hear that you are OK. I can't say what i would have done in your situation, but you definitely did the right thing. 95% of a-holes with guns won't shoot unless you give them a reason to... it's only a car. Least you're OK...
Those that live by the sword usually die by the sword - those street punks will probably be shot in the back by one of their drugged up heroin addict friends over 20 bucks...
Glad you're OK.

Buck-O 01-18-2001, 01:52 AM WHOA!!! THAT IS SERIOUSLY F**KED!!!!
Im sorry to hear about that man, thats rediculas. Glad to hear your alright.
Thats weak.
Thats the exact reason why i carry a KA-Bar to the right of my seat by the hand brake, and on ocasion (for long road trips) a 9mm under the seat. I know cant fight violence with violence, but nothing detures a car jacker more then a big angry armed white guy with a few screws loose. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif
This stuff is rediculas. Most likly that gun they had wasnt even loaded. Im not saying you should have called their bluff, its ALWAYS better to be safe then sorry. But this crap needs to end.
I used to live in SoCal, and this is part of the reason my my family moved out of there. Stupid **** like this.
Bah, im so pissed right now you have no clue.
I feel EXTREMELY sorry for you. What a loss. I hope you can recoupe from your loss, and also fromt eh trauma of the incident.
Bst of luck to you.
8Complex 01-18-2001, 02:23 AM ............
I wouldn't have had the balls to do that. To get out and run. Glad you did, you made the right choice.
Hope they find them in it, it totaled, and somewhat seriously injured. Not only could you sue them, but press multiple charges on them that they wouldn't be able to live down in 20 years in prison.
Good luck with all you're going through.
Kostamojen 01-18-2001, 02:57 AM Wow, thats some scary stuff...
I hope no one ever trys something like that on me, cause im the type that might do something stupid...
ivbdn 01-18-2001, 04:46 AM First off, I'm happy to see that you're alive to tell us about it, but I am sorry to hear about them taking your car. I've never known anyone to get car jacked, but my parents had their car stolen the night before Christmas Eve, so I kinda understand how you feel.
Jay_UK 01-18-2001, 05:03 AM holy ****e.
That is some bad stuff!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
Glad to see you are ok..
I hope they find the guys *yeah..wishful thinking*
J.
the crappy thing is... that if caught..they would go to the federal penitentiary (sp?) instead of the state... the federal one (at least here) is like minimum security sh|t with A/C , Gyms, Cable ..you name it... while the state pen...well.. it sucks. I really dont wish THAT upon anyone.. except those F|ckaS!
I really dont want the car back..unless its totalled...i really dont see myself living with it now...and god knows it woudl be hard to sell with it been stolen and stuff http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
oh and.. since i cant wait till march for the WRX, i thought i could buy an RS instead.. well there are only 3 RS's left in PR, one silverthorn and two white...all manual coupes, buuuut one of the whites is a demo car (that doesnt bother me, as the dealer owner is a friend, autoxer and roadracer, and i know he takes car of the cars) but rumor has it that the other two cars are already sold... So i could be without a Subie afterall http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
Rick Buckner 01-18-2001, 06:17 AM Wow just read this. U are lucky they didn't shoot you. Hope things work out.

T-WRX 01-18-2001, 06:59 AM Glad you are ok. You did the right thing.
Let's hope they do find the car. I'm sure you could live with it for a couple more months until the WRX arrives. If they don't, then you should get a junker for a couple of hundred dollars until it is WRX-time.
Tim K. 01-18-2001, 07:01 AM Its all been said in the posts above this one, but I'll reiterate anyway. Glad to see you get out of this one unscathed. Good job keeping your wits about you and grabbing the cell phone.
My best friend's wife was carjacked in the middle of the day in a Wal-mart parking lot. Not a pleasent experience.

Glad you are o.k. Cars is cars, but life is someting else again. Still, I hate that feeling of helplessness, particularly when guns are involved.
that sux. glad you are here to tell the tale, tho'
Sporin 01-18-2001, 07:37 AM Don't let all this internet posturing get you down, you did the right thing. Anyone who would risk getting themselves killed over a hunk of metal and plastic has thier priorities out of whack.
Go buy a $500 junker and wait for the WRX. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif
BigElm 01-18-2001, 07:51 AM ProgSi,
I had a gun pointed to my face at one time (hold-up)...Bayamon... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/mad.gif
So I know the feeling...you did the right thing. Bad things in life are always paid off. It's only a matter of time before something bad happens to them.
And you know THAT'S TRUE!!! Especially in PR!!!
Glad you're ok....

Wait for an WRX! If not, get a white RS so I can sell you my stuff when the WRX comes out.
Leo
well .... someone offered me a 2001 yellow R..but that would be just as punk friendly as my Si...
Gambit 01-18-2001, 09:34 AM That just sux! I can't believe this. I watch these stuff go on TV and never would've thought it would happen to a person here in the board! I guess u reported it to the cops and the insurance should do something about this. Glad u're a ok man.

STiShawn 01-18-2001, 12:58 PM That does really suck, glad to hear your ok....wise choice to run, you cant dodge a bullit.
I almost got car jacked her in St.Louis my first week....
two BIG A$$ dudes in a Dodge Stratus (no plates) roll up next to me on the high way, tell me I have a flat and to pull over, and then proceed to be 6inch's to a foot off my bumper the whole way, luckily I could tell I didnt have a flat, but these F@ckers followed me alllll the way into the gas station before they left me alone......
bluesubie 01-18-2001, 02:20 PM Whoa, that's heavy. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/eek.gif
You made the right move.
Dennis
jjimpreza 01-18-2001, 02:28 PM WOW!
Sorry to hear that. That is some pretty heavy shnit. I know that must suc bad. Look at the bright side they didn't feel you full of lead. Hope you get a new WRX!!
dave1rr 01-18-2001, 02:46 PM Glad to see you're okay, the car can be replaced. As others have said, you did the right thing, just give them the car. Similar thing happened to me too, a .357 in my face from a hitch hicker who wanted my car more than I did.
Mine ended a little funny though. It was midnight in a remote sub-division, and I was trying to convince the retired gentleman behind the door that I only wanted him to call the sheriff for me, (20+ years ago, no cell phone). Just as he opened the door, the rifle his wife was loading in the bedroom went off and she shot a hole through their ceiling. The car was a POS, and after that I felt worse for them than myself.
subaruwrx 01-18-2001, 02:58 PM Dude, you got my sympathys... that sucks. I hope those guys mess with the wrong person and get whats coming to them.. thats just TOO wrong...
--Adam
Willman67 01-18-2001, 05:25 PM If you were in Texas or Louisiana you could have simply rolled down the window and uploaded clip after clip of ammunition into them and kept your car. The laws have been recently changed (I'm certain of this in Louisiana, pretty sure about Texas)to consider your vehicle as part of your person so that you can defend yourself with deadly force if neccessary. In places like California and New Jersey you can be fined or imprisoned if you use profane language while you are being carjacked or sued by your assailant if you don't say "thank you" as your being shot by them.
Its a suck deal but thankfully you are alive! A car definately ain't worth dying for!
Maybe the universe is trying to tell you its time to buy a WRX.
Ragstylz 01-18-2001, 07:57 PM If someone posted this, sorry, this post is getting long, but i did see on a news show a while back that in africa somewhere they were testing this prototype for anticarjacking...basically, if someone was standing next to the door, you flip a switch and flames shot out from under the car and torching the carjacker...kinda incredible looking when they tested it...
just thought that was interesting...
sorry to hear the incident, smart decision to let the car go and walk away with your life, as much as i love my car, i would do the same
Jeff
RichXKU 01-18-2001, 11:37 PM I do like the flaming anti-carjacking device, but it won't work when they can just shoot you http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif
t.rod 01-19-2001, 01:15 AM That bites. Glad your OK.
01 Black RS 01-19-2001, 01:19 AM wow that is insane, at least your ok though
Buckbomb 01-19-2001, 01:29 AM What is with all of the missfortune going on on the I-Club lately. Everyone is getting in wrecks and getting crap stolen and now this!
Prog-SI I am truely sorry that you have joined the growing list of I-Club tragedies. I am glad that you are unharmed and I hope those bastards get what the deserve in the end. I take it you didn't get a licence # huh? Well the accord was probably stolen aswell.
Be crefull out there guys, theres bad vibes in the air for us I-Clubbers. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/eek.gif
thatchmaster 01-19-2001, 03:05 AM Just got back from the Detroit show.. and I thought it was scary walking around there at night, when I'm used to major suburbia just outside of Rochester.
Good to hear that you're alright. I've heard about so many people getting, or almost getting jacked on some Honda boards. All kinds of people carrying guns in their cars. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that too much up here... but still, owning a Prelude can get pretty scary just driving around at all; you know that some places you drive, people are thinking, "hmm.. wonder how much I could get for that one..."
Can't wait to store mine, tear it apart, build it to road race and get my scooby.

sspriest 02-04-2001, 10:57 PM Hey ProgSi what ever happened after that night?
Was your car everfound?
Did your insurance co take care of you, I hope so.
peace
Peter Hadfield 02-05-2001, 12:11 AM You did the right thing by just giving them the car and keeping your mouth shut. You saved yourself a lot of trouble. I am glad they did not hurt you! As a side note, when I was in San Juan, Puerto Rico with the Navy a few years back, our Commanding Officer recommended if we went driving at night, that we should be cautious stopping at red lights due to the high occurence carjackings in San Juan!
Update:
The car hasnt been found..so i guess it was quickly stripped down for parts... or something...im still waiting for the insurance to pay though..the sad thing is, i have to go make this months payment on my stolen car..or my credit will be affected...at least that will lower the balance of my loan and ill get it back when the insurance settles..but it still feels very sucky to have to go pay for it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif
The good news: Saturday, i gave a deposit on a black WRX http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif The dealership is trying to work a different deal for the rims (instead of the expensive BBS option, hes trying with OZ/Prodrive i believe) and i might get the spoiler and gauge pack... AND of course a very good security system with GPS or something!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
The bad news: I am stuck driving a rental Mitsubishi Mirage DE (lower model) automatic until the WRX.. god its slow and boring http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif
Thanks for all your concerns!
Kevin Thomas 02-05-2001, 04:56 AM ProgSi,
I just read this post this morning for the first time. Sorry to hear of your incident. Luckily you made a good choice and you are ok.
Now for my pessimistic attitude: Just like in countries like Australia, do you think this same type of thing will happen more often with those people owning WRX's? Just a thought!

Snoopy 02-05-2001, 06:46 AM Just curious, what would they have done if you said that there is LoJack. Leave it be? Shoot you so you can't call the police to activate the homing beacon?
Well, you did the right thing. You're alive and unscathed.
I have LoJack. Sure my car parts aren't in demand but it's the theiving joy riders I fear most.
well even if i had something like lojack..i wouldve said no.. obviously http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
how does lo-jack work exactly? maybe i should get that for the WRX...
i just got a picture of me ordering the WRX at the dealership...ill post it a bit later when i resize it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
Safir 02-05-2001, 07:18 AM From my understanding of how LoJack works, if your car is stolen, you report the theft to the police and tell them it is LoJack-equipped. There is some sort of serial number or something in your LoJack unit, and they send a signal out to all their LoJack Equipped cars (ever wonder what those four little antennas on the back half of the roof were for? you guessed it) and the LoJack equipment in the police car sends out a signal for your LoJack box to respond, and listen for a response. When the box hears the signal it starts transmitting some sort of RF signal, and using those four little antennas the police car can tell approximately what direction and how far away your car is. they follow the signal and viola, your car is back!
Ginseng 02-05-2001, 07:20 AM Hey ProgSi. Glad you made it out alive. Life is always more important than stuff. Hey, it could have been worse...those punks could have been part of the new breed that would have just shot you anyway.
BTW, I read about a system that prevents carjacking by firing a high voltage electrical stun charge into the car cabin if the vehicle is forcibly taken. It'd probably fry the electrical system though. My personal favorite is a system that releases tear gas or pepper spray into the eyes of the driver and passenger. Sadistic, I know. But these ****ers don't deserve humane treatment. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/pirate.gif
well..i dont really know if the cops here are lo-jack equiped..i would doubt it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/rolleyes.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif
I dont know..there were three guys..armed mofos...if something woudlve prevented them from getting the car they wouldve shot me..one of them at least i believe.. so i guess i am very lucky... heres the pic!!

Actually.. car jacking of any car is quite rare here in Australia. There are a lot of stolen WRXs though, but these are stolen the traditional way, ie breaking in and starting the car. Most insurance companies here require satellite tracking, and when the car is stolen, the tracking device is activated and the engine can be shut off by remote control.
Without sounding like I'm America bashing, I don't see car jacking really becoming as rife here as it is there, mainly because guns are hard to find, and car jacking with a knife is quite difficult. I mean if a criminal would invest money in a gun, he/she can make much more by robbing or something. not by stealing cars. Just my opinion.
Snoopy 02-05-2001, 08:31 AM In America, we use kung fu for carjacking. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif
I wish.
Superu 03-04-2001, 12:29 AM LIGHT BULB! This is why every car should be equipped with a self-destruct mode. With a button both in the car and a remote unit.

I'll lend him my rims to torture himhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif Of course, I'll keep the keys so he won't torture mehttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

crrii 05-12-2001, 10:43 PM Sorry to hear what happened to you. I myself was carjacked back in February. I was sitting in my SUV in my Apartment complex parking lot when a guy cornered me in the vehicle and stuck a long knife in front of me and said "I'm taking your car and I'm taking your money" I gave him my car(had no money on me) and made it as easy as possible for him. At one point he wanted to know who was up in my apartment so that he could rob me also. Very scary... my wife and my 7 year old boy were in there. I got him off the subject and he finally let me go and took off with my truck. He used it the next night in a robbery. They found it a week later with minimal damage. I drove it to my dealer and had it detailed, then drove it straight to the local Subaru dealer where I traded it for my 2.5 RS. Best thing to remember is that you are still alive... it could have been different. These creeps don't care about you, me, or anyone. They just care about themselves. It's best to just give them what they want. You can always replace a car, but it's much harder to replace you! I hope that they catch the jerks that jacked us. Good luck, and be careful!!!!
T-WReX 2.5RS 05-12-2001, 11:08 PM Dude, that is sad. Did they steal an Si or a WRX? Was not clear to me.
Later,
tony.
HoratioCaine 05-13-2001, 12:12 AM T-WReX - He used to be ProgSI... changed his name after it was jacked and he ordered the Rex.
There's good in everything. Now he's got a Ru.
EnterTheDragon 05-13-2001, 02:44 PM wow, that is scarey, it's just too bad you didn't feel like racing, you coulda smoked them and still had your baby, but all in all you did the right thing, Does insurance cover this I hope so, again sorry for your misfortune that truely sucks
harrydog 05-13-2001, 03:30 PM You did do the right thing. A car can always be replaced. Didn't you say you were carjacked once before? I think I would be worried about it happening again. Driving a nice car can be dangerous in some places and it sounds like San Juan is one of them.
From what I've heard, things aren't so good in PR these days, in terms of crime. My wife's family watched a shoot out near their house between drug dealers and undercover cops. One of the cops was killed. Her parents are very disgusted with how much crime there is in San Juan; not at all like it was years ago. But of course that's true of most places.
How does this affect your insurance?
This happened way back in jan, it was my Si who got stolen , ive had a WRX since march 6...
It didnt do anything to my insurance since it wasnt my fault..., although due to the honda's being so "hot" here in PR the insurance on them tends to be a lot higher, for example, the insurance on my Si was a lot more than my WRX even though the WRX is turbo and has 227hp! (and cost 5k more)
Im not sure if this serves a purpose anymore, and id like to put this behind me...
