View Full Version : G-tech data on modded 2.5RS

Well, I finally bought a G-tech to test before and after mods on my car. I believe that it is an accurate device if used properly, or at least I would like to believe. Does anybody with a similar setup have the same data, or believe in this data? Anyway, here is a list of my mods, and the performance data:

2001 2.5RS:
1) Ganz Intake/Amsoil panel filter
2) Brospeed cat back
3) 18mm sway bar
4) KYB/AGX with MRT Whiteline springs 30mm
5) 215/45-17 HTRZII's on rota sub zero's
6) s/s brake lines
7) front EBC Slotted rotors
8) Hawk HPS brake pads in front

results averaged on 5 runs and the g's were measured over about a 30 second run, in which the measurement of .98 g's had to be present for 3 seconds or more:

.98 g ------- skidpad
7.3 sec -----0-60
15.3 sec----1/4 mile
116ft--------60-0 braking

Which one did you get? The "G-Tech/Pro" or the "G-Tech/Pro Competition"? If you got the first one, you might want to return it and get the second one instead. It doesn't do the 60-0 braking distance yet, but it will with the new firmware upgrade . . . I hope. See here --> http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gtechpro/

Did you use any special launch techniques? What are your shift points? Did you unload everything from your car?

I have some data with the new G-Tech meter on my stock vehicle, with extra weight from everything in my car, and using no special launch techniques. My time was around 9 to 9.5 second 0-60.

I launch at about 4000-4500rpm, and shift at 6000rpm. I unloaded nothing from the car. I went out last night to practice some more and the best I could manage was 7.5. I really believe the temperature being about 10 degree's higher had much to do with the increased time last night. I guess a lot of variables such as air temperature and barometric pressure determine horsepower more than I ever imagined...GQ

I'm no expert but 9 to 9.5 seconds sounds quite slow. I would like to think that the 7.3 to 7.5 is much more accurate! What alttitude is that cali location at?

Like I said, it is done without any special launch technique. No 3000 RPM dump or slip or anything. Just straight right feet on gas, left feet off clutch. To get the fastest 0-60 time, some type of launch technique must be performed.

This is done in the LA area. San Bernardino to be more specific.

15.3 sounds pretty accurate. I got a 15.3 last year with my MY00 RS with a Rallispec intake and Brospeed exhaust (non-cat back, just muffler section).
