Does anyone know anything about them?

You'll know I'm getting an Impreza.

But on the side of it, it says "Special Edition". We are buying it from someone we know, so we know that it came with "Special Edition" on it from the dealer when it was brand new.

We are taking it to a dealer to have it inspected, and they say they can sell it for $8,000 because it only has 28,000 miles and because the fact that it's the "Special Edition".

I'm just curious as to if anyone knows anything about the Special Edition, and if so could they post it.

are you sure that the "special edition" was there from the beginning? or was it a dealer "special edition"? you know like now the thrown on a pinstripe, clearcoat and different rims, and all of a sudden its a Special Edition. maybe its one of those cheesy autozone decals...

It's been there since the car was purchased. We know the people who currently own it. Now, I'm not sure if it's something the dealer did or not. But the Subaru dealer now says that it's worth more since it's a Special Edition.

Why are these cars so expensive? The dealer said they could get $8,000 when they sell it, You can get a newer 3rd Generation Taurus SHO(the fast Taurus) for like $10,000 with 50K miles on it.

These Subaru's are definitily dogs, I hope it has the 2.2L in it, and not the 1.8L. At least the 2.2L isn't that bad, but the 1.8L has gotta be a dog being only 110HP. Right now I'm learning to drive in a 182HP Saturn LS2. But I think the Subaru will be a fun car to have, especially for my first car :)

It's not that smaller Saturn your thinking of. It's the new one they have thats bigger. It has a DOHC V6 in it. It's my moms car.

Here's the page for the 2002 one, they renamed it L300 from LS2. But they have the same HP + torque ratings.

I don't know what it is, but I doubt it's anything too "special." When do the mods start? You should work your way on over to RS25.com.

PM Dreko, I think he told me he has one. I remember him mentioning a beefed up swaybar, but can't remember anything else.

yeah, usually it just means leather wrapped steering wheel, differnt interior subtlties and rims....

I had problems with my car too with the dealer... They were asking like $9,998 for my car and I told them they were crazy. Got it down to around $7,500 but that was still crazy so I walked away...
Went to a "tent sale" down at the state fair grounds and they had it for less to start with, so I went in to bargain and got it down to $5,000.

Just keep working them, you will get a better price.

My PHP script for the gallery doesn't work well with slower internet connections, even my cable modem struggles sometimes. I gotta have the PHP script actually compress the image rather then just resize it, but that takes time to do and I don't have the patience to sit down and code a PHP script during my summer break :D ;)

That "Special Edition" sticker does not look like something Subaru put on the car at the factory, there have been very few "special" Impreza's and when there were if I recall they were called "Limited Edition". Usually the rarity of an impreza is by it's color, not option package. But don't hold me to that.

I'm thinking that's an aftermarket sticker either put on by the dealer or a former owner.

I tried it at work on an OC3 and just got broken images. Works great now, good pictures too. Good luck with the car.:)
