Blow Me!! I recently purchased a 2000 2.5 - sedona red.....and I love it. Yes, the WRX has much to offer......except looks. Regardless of my opinion, I wanna blow this thing. As far as I've found the Eaton supercharger requires a modified hood. The upcoming Baja sports the same 2.5 liter with a blower claiming 230 bhp. Granted its gait and clearance, it has no need for an altered hood.
Are there options for me? I know I'm looking at 5k+ for an Eaton installed and more for a custom hood. Any suggestions?
Much appreciated,
Jester7

They're gonna move this to Aftermarket Forced Induction, just so you know.
As for the Baja, I thought the supercharger was only on the prototype. According to http://www.subarubaja.com/index.html it is going to output 165HP, just like the regular normally aspirated EJ25, so no supercharger.
The other kits are mostly Rimmer. Do a search for the history of those, but they don't really seem to be available new anymore. Supposedly new kits are on the way, but we've been hearing snippets for over a year now, with no indication of an imminent release.

there are a few new kits on the way.
DNT Performance, Suby Sports, and Cobb Tuning are making kits supposedly. check www.rs25.com/forums for info on the DNT kit.

I think Eaton made a kit called the sidewinder that mounts on the side, and requires no hood modification.

Actually it was Rimmer who made the "sidewinder". During R&D he tested various brand compressors and I believe only one brand was eventually choosen and sold in a few kits.
