Horsepower and torque, that is.

View Full Version : When will the Legacy get more power? driver 05-06-2001, 08:41 PM Horsepower and torque, that is. Impreza Rider 05-06-2001, 09:47 PM I see you haven't found the newbie forum yet. Anyway, the Legacy Outback wagon has the new H6 which has more power than the H4, so it's already gottne more power, and I'm sure that the engine will make it's way down to the lower Legacy's soon enough. Jim Kostamojen 05-07-2001, 12:46 AM Im thinking next model year we will get an upgrade in the GT... hopefully http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif JGard 05-07-2001, 02:05 PM sorry folks, but I think I would buy a Turbo GT before any WRX. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif they're just so freakin sweet! BJamerican 05-07-2001, 03:18 PM bryanw: True - I'll agree that the 2000 Outback sedans do handle better than my Legacy (1995). The chassis is very stiff and it's sure-footed on curves. Body-roll is almost non-existant. Don't get me wrong, the Outbacks are a tight rides. In my own opinion, it just feels really weird riding that high off the ground in a car. I don't think a "raised" suspension belongs on a car. Just imagine how well it would handle if that COG was just an inch or two lower! tatical 05-07-2001, 03:31 PM Subaru had a Legacy Outback sedan with a H6 engine on display when I went to the NYC auto show on the last day. Danger 05-07-2001, 04:15 PM Legacy GT / Blitzen Porsche enhanced, Subaru turboed Stickee 05-07-2001, 06:07 PM Hey Danger, do you live in the Creditview/Eglinton or Rathburn area? I remember seeing a white wagon last summer with an exhaust I believe. I was on my mountain bike. ForesterPerformance 05-07-2001, 06:10 PM BJamerican... The Low Outback would probably handle alot like my Lowered Forester... freakin' sweet!!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif KooshDogg 05-07-2001, 06:26 PM ya know, when i posted THREE MONTHS AGO that subaru had announced a prototype H6 VDC Outback SEDAN no one seemed to listen... hehe, until of course it appeared at the NY auto show... anyway, it WILL come to the US for the next model year, but only in the outback sedan version and not the GT-L, which certainly sucks.. two-tone paint is ugly, and more power + a more advanced AWD system can't be that much more fun without a sport suspension BJamerican 05-07-2001, 08:19 PM I love the two-tone paint on the Outback sedans. Have you seen any black/platinum Outbacks with gold accented rims (CLEAN black ones, that is)? That color combo is very sharp. White looks nice too, and it stays cleaner longer. ejicon 05-08-2001, 01:36 AM when someone pops a twin turbo into it.... That'll be a sight for sore eyes! [This message has been edited by ejicon (edited May 08, 2001).] kevinsUBARU 05-08-2001, 01:42 AM There was a H-6 VDC Sedan at some auto show...one of my friends saw it! BJamerican 05-08-2001, 01:48 AM Production of the 3.0H6 Outback sedan has been confirmed for next model year - it's on Subaru's website under press releases. Heh heh, it's gonna zing with the extra torque and only 100 pounds of added weight. Now if they could just put that engine in the Legacy GT, or at least get rid of the Outback's raised suspension (6+ inches of ground clearance!!!). bryanw 05-08-2001, 01:55 AM >>>get rid of the Outback's raised suspension (6+ inches of ground clearance!!!) The Impreza has nearly 6 inches of ground clearance. The Outback has over 7. There's nothing wrong with ground clearance unless you're planning on driving 200 mph. Center of gravity is the issue and all Subaru's have very low COG's considering their ground clearance. Subie Gal 05-08-2001, 01:57 AM rumors... all unconfirmed... Turbo GT or H6 GT to a dealer near you in the next 2 years... keep your eyes and ears tuned here kids... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif the waiting game... gotta love it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif j. www.subiegal.com (http://www.subiegal.com) bryanw 05-08-2001, 01:58 AM >>>Legacy Outback wagon has the new H6 Uh no, actually the Legacy Outback died in '99. It's now the Subaru Outback. Unfortunately, even after almost 2 years, the moronic Subaru dealers haven't even caught on!!! Getting really tired of Subaru dealers advertising 2001 Legacy Outbacks when they don't even exist. driver 05-08-2001, 02:41 AM Well, if they decide to turbo the GT, will it be a 2.5 liter or 2.0? ejicon 05-08-2001, 03:12 AM Most likely the 2.0 since they didn't turbo the current 2.5... MY99 2.5GT 05-08-2001, 07:55 AM Maybe they will give us the SuperCharged EJ25 that they put in the prototype brat. That would be sweet. ANZAC_1915 05-08-2001, 08:40 AM The last time I spoke to the local SOA reps they said "no turbo GT". They don't want to undercut the WRX market, at least for a few years. I am pretty sure they were talking about a H6 GT sedan though (auto of course....) Glenn |
