 I did a search, and did not find what i was looking for. I know a few i-clubers have swaped from N/a stock exhaust to the wrx. Know im not sure if the swap included the mid pipe because im unsure on the diameter of a stock wrx pipe. What i want to know is has anyone shown and hp gain in doing this swap?? Were there any bentifits, and what modifications were made to make the swap adapt. My goal in inquiring about this is to maintain a lo-key look, and still gain a few horses. For some reason i digg the twin tips.

I highly recommend the look, the performance was suprisingly good. My MY99 is highly modded (read my profile) and I did notice a loss of throtle response but it seemed equaly quick. The bottom end seemed slightly beefed up but slight top end loss (overall, just as quick). My entire exhaust from the manifold collector back is custom so I used the backbox and the over-axle tubing but not the flange. All in all it lined up pretty well and looked much better than my carbon stained canister exhaust.;)

A good friend of mine just dropped the WRX backbox on his TS Wagon and said he didn't notice any power loss/gain but it does sound a little better, read low rumble :) and looks SWEET!

I personally really like the looks of it over stock and for the price you can get a used one here...I'd say it's worth it.

I do have to say that I personally am holding off for the full header back system that's coming out soon. :D More power and hopefully not too noisey:p

Make sure if you're going to do the exhaust, you replace as much of the upstream piping as you can. My custom "header" (actually a y-pipe) repalces the stock manifold from just below the stock collectors into a smooth y into a catco high flow cat, from there a small (12") resonator into a straight through muffler. Before the resonator the thing was rediculously loud (that's why I went to the WRX muffler) but since it is much more livable inside the cabin. If you can get a WRX muffler cheap go with it, mine was free, the exhaust piping should cost you anywhere from $50-$200 depending on how nuts you go (and how cool the shop is). Shop around, my entire exhaust (the canister muffler was ~$100) cost me under $200!! I went to a local podunk muffler shop who specializes in, you guessed it, V8s. The guy was really cool and glad to see that it wasn't another Honda with giant tip:lol:

Hope this helps.
