Neophobia - Fear that your WRX will be mistaken for a neon.

When I saw the WRX my first thought was...'hmmm neon headlights' ... I just recently took a drive from St. Louis back up to Michigan and MY GOD, I never knew how many neons are on the damn road!!!

either that...or make it look more like a neon and just have people think they just got beatin by one...LOL SUCKERS!!!

I'll second this. Since I've been looking at purchasing an 02 WRX I've been keeping an eye out for them on the road. Usually when I think I see one it turns out to be a Neon!

I see the lights then check for the fogs or scoop and notice they're missing. That's when I know. Maybe eyelids can fix this...

I saw a neon with fog lights!!! ARGH!

I don't know what's wrong with people's eyes but...The Impreza dosen't look anything like a Neon!

On the other side of the coin, so far I've only had one person ask me if my car was a "Kia" at the gas station so far. I pointing out Subaru, Turbo, AWD to the misguided fellow(who's wife really liked the look of the car, so it's wasn't all bad).

I felt a little better immediatly after when someone who knows about and recognized the car asked my opinion and said he was interested in getting one.

Even though I visit the gas station about twice as often as I did before, I enjoy it a little more when someone ask about the car in a good way

the back looks like an ECHO ....sometimes The headlights do have the shape of the Neon, IMHO, but that is where it stops... I like the visible cluster of lights, but I still like the look of my RS. sorry

The world over has scratched their heads at the look of the new Impreza, while some people hate it, some people like Neons. I think the "eyelids" do wonders for it.

The lights don't look like Neon lights at all at night. The Neon's lights appear round, while the new Impreza lights only light up like 2/3 of the circle. (The part at the top with the turn signal isn't lit)

I'll get my co-worker to bring his digicam to work tomorrow night and I'll post a pic of the WRX's lights at night.

There is no way a New Age Impreza can be mistaken for a Neon in real life. In pictures, maybe. But not in reality.

With the lights on during the night, I mistook a IS300 for a WRX! Weird...

I wonder how long this "new age" body style will last. I hope not too long. I guess I'll just have to keep mine.
