Sounds awsome, when are you going to be done. Keep giving us the updates. When are you going to update your site. I like the STi decal, it really cathes your eye.

bigger swaybars on an offroad car?

front lip to go with that huge rear wing?

did you see prodrives wind tunnel test results?

adding downforce to the rear, and not the front results in LESS downforce on the front. dangerous situation

Wouldn't it make more sense to put MRT on the side, instead of STI, since MRT actually has something to do with the car?

STI provides badging and door sills, MRT provides and engine... Why not throw a Type R sticker on there?

I live in florida and am quite familiar with this car and where its going. A person went to mastro to have this made. Its what HE wnats on HIS car. Leave it at that because you all know that when this car is done your not going to want to meet up with it on the street:lol: Would be a bit embarrassing.

EDIT: there is a body kit on the way for this car that I do believe includes the front spoiler.

This is why I love the I-Club, so many negative, rude and insulting people in on easy to find website.

I didn't even post this thread here. I-Club must have moved it.

If you don't like the car, click on another forum.

Maybe it's just sour grapes.....

Is this actually a customer's car? That guy must have some major jack.

It's funny to see Mastro doing all this work to this car. They wouldn't even install an uppipe for me. I know, federal law, blah, blah, blah............

So Flyboy? You answered your own question....

Why do you bother to post this crap?

Anyone with ANYTHING positve to say on teh I-Club?

Just curious...

For the folks actually interested in the car, and not being critics,
Yes we have a nice body kit coming, Liberal, and the motor has arrived fro Au. MRT mechanic gets here this weekend to beging heavy duty stuff we are not trained on. The car will have lots of torque, will likely red line in 5th. It will be a beast...

It is not cheap, but then quality has a price. The nice part is that it will be durable and last a typical engine life.

The trans will remain stock with a HD clutch. Testing has shown no failures with this hp if the car is shown some respect. Most failures we have seen are due to ham fisted drivers who just beat their car to death.

The car is coming along well, and it's crunch time, so we are busy getting all the details finished.

Thanks
Bill

damn im good looking, lol, thats positive right?

:D  :D

no but in all seriousness that is one badass car, im not gonna lie. i just cant see takin that offroad especially with the car being white:eek: because im more function over form, i would have dropped the visual stuff (cept for those morettes *drool*) and saved up for the tranny upgrade.

other than that, that car is awesome, and i would love to see the faces of various car owners when he takes it to an auto-x track and wreaks havoc.

The only reason that I am upset about it was Kyle told me you guys were installing one in a car the same week I asked about it. Was that not true? Selective service? I guess I don't have enough money to spend so I wasn't worth your time.

MastroWRX
06-11-2002, 03:48 PM
Igot;
Now that's more like.... I feel sensitive now... :) Stuart's my mentor.... ;)

Fly.... read the part about off road. The up pipe is a great mod if your car is leaving our shop on a trailer, like the Monster. Yours isn't so we can't install the pipe.

Why not buy a socket set and install it at home? We can certainly supply the part, what you do with it is your business. Much more effective than breakin on us.

We are selective. If it's legal and you can afford it, we'll do it. If it's a request that isn't, well, I'm open to ideas.

That car could be painted hot purple with yellow graphics for all I care it is gonna have 450 hp. I can't wait to see the car when it is totally finished. Great job and you have a list of goodies on that car I only dream about. Keep up the good work. Take care -KEVIN-

I will be interested to see if it makes 400hp, I haven't seen an MRT car here make that we want dyno proven grunt.
He will need a gearbox though, I runa stroker and with all that torque (his will make 250ft/lbs) it just stripps the gears like glass, third gear if he takes it easy, I'd be telling him to turn the boost down to 10psi till he gets one.
I run one

Kharl,

thanks for your support. ;)

Dyno proven is not everything, just because its not on line does not mean it does not exist!

We dont publish dyno figure that often becuase it creates the wrong impression.

Outright power is not everything.

What do you equate 220 KW at the wheels?

HI Bill!!!

I remember the good support I got from yu guys when I was going to purchase one of the Yellow Rex's way back then. We didn't get them here in PR as it was a SOA edition, (same reason we don't get the LL Bean edition here)

Didn't get it as dealer here wouldn't honor the Waranty (Funny as I don't have any right now;) )

Now might be in the market for an almost new one to import.

Anyways, great service you guys have and If I were wrong, Your meets wouldn't be so popular!

We're finished running in the motor and we turn up the boost today... {grin}

Last few days were marathon runs from Tampa to Daytona Beach, to Miami last night, and around here as well. Some Hondas have new respect as well.

Car is filthy, drivers tired.... but it's all smooth and sweet. Lots of strength, car feels strong at just 7 psi. Makes some cool sounds as well.

Today, boost goes to peak 24 psi, car gets a deserved bath and vacuum out.

Now for the real power....

I was up there the other day and had a chance to spend some time with the monster and check it out. I did not get to drive it but I got to start it and rev it a little. That 2.2 stroker sounds pretty nice. I think ill post some pics of this bad boy. Finally had the chance to sit in STi seats. The quality and feel of these are incredible.

Yeah I'm here, just don't follow every thread every day.

Price? don't ask.... deeeeeep pocket purchase.

The car is nice in 1st and 2nd, and an absolute *$&#! in 3rd and up. It feels like "Back to the Future".

STi battery is a "special" spec unit.... only one in the world ;)

i dont remember reading about battery issues with the mrt front mount? I take it this isnt their normal front mount? Or is it because of the stroker motor?

MastroWRX
07-10-2002, 09:37 AM
Perhaps MRT will like to comment, but we found that the stocker will not fit.

We used a Miata battery, which is a neat little unit, nearly same output and small package.

It's not an expensive battery, and all in all with the price of the FMIC, not a major issue. It's a beautiful unit...

Bill at Mastro....

OzWRX

I think the MRT front mount was designed around the Oz spec battery which is smaller than the US spec piece....from what I hear they are redesigning the pipework at bit to work with the larger US spec battery

I recall this is true, Shane was surprised by the size of the stock WRX battery, he said regular car didn't get such a big battery.

STi gets the bigger unit in non USA markets....
