Joel Gat, 1.8L 06-09-2002, 04:10 AM Hello, Yeah, I know... unfortunately, the time you saw my car, I made the terrible mistake of attempting to take full control of my engine management. Once I was able to modify too many variables, I couldn't figure anything out and I made less power. Now I'm back to having a couple of knobs to turn. I understand this much better. I think I'm pumping out 750 again. And when I hit the drag, I should be able to bolt out a high 12 again. Isn't that proof enough that engine management is for the birds? Maybe you have the same engine management that I do - the one where you change the boost settings, load them, do a memory dump to ensure they got in, and the next day when you pull them from the Link ECU (oops, wasn't naming names), they've been mysteriously reset again. Same thing happened to all of row 7 fuel on me today, and I've been wondering why it's taking forever to get a decent tune, and no amount of fuel seems to eliminate knock/timing pull.
