It came to my attention that i Club became very fond of power claims that instantly turn into a big flaming argument. It usually has no technical value.

So, to separate the technical threads from "No, you suck and your dyno is liying..." thread, we have this forum now.

If you can think of a better name for this forum, please post it here.

Umm, Alex, you might think of making this forum NOT under Factory Forced and instead in it's own place, since the 2.5s are also running 1/4 miles and I think their records in the US are right there with the WRXs. Weren't there a couple of mid to high 12 second Minnam Turbo cars a couple years ago? If so, there are no 11 second WRXs yet, so they're both in the same league...

I think it is a good idea to have a forum that tries to keep the smack talk out of the serious tech talk, but I have a feeling it will becoume rather slanderous here, both for the enthusiast and the vendors alike. We'll see though, it could also be very entertaining too...
P.S. Check the spelling in the forum topic header under Proven Power Bragging, " achivement " aka achievement..:p I'm not the spelling police, no flames please, but you don't want people telling you the same thing over and over again either..

I just hope this forum doesn't turn into one giant flame fest. I-club is getting bad enough as it is. :(

I still like "my dick is bigger than your dick" but it's not so easy to say 10 times fast and it doesn't roll off the tongue :lol:. Plus, we'd end up in searches for those "enlarger" pill ads that are as prevalent as the damn X10 cameras ;).

Alex, thank you for the new forum- I was damn near lynched for moving these threads out of FFI and for suggesting that they aren't inherently technical ;).

For the 6 months I've been a member, I've been wondering when someone was going to change "NO GROUP GUYS!!!" to "NO GROUP BUYS!!!" like the description for the Private 'For Sale' Classifieds right above it.

I appreciate this idea, as well. It should clean up the FFI forum, and still allow reasonable bragging, venting and weenie comparing to go on. Like they say overseas, us US peeps are all about the drag strip and HP figures! So its fitting we have an entire forum dedicated to it!:lol:

At least the leadership up in here knows where the real MECCA of WRX high performance is at ! Notice they did NOT name it the turbo xs Power bragging forum !

It is about time the BS was seperated from the useful information. Although I think there should be an al vs turboxs forum as well. Being the topic seems to come up quite often maybe its just a good idea to give him his very own forum. Being he seems to think that every dyno should bring out the same numbers im sure the new forum will have some very interesting ideas, innovation and good ole complaining. Just my 02 cents.

I agree with torch - - it was better when it was all in the same forum - - i just hope that they keep it fair and restrict turboxs and other from posting thier future power claims in FFI - so long as everyone has to play by the same rules - i see no probolem either way

this forum is a great idea. there really does need to be strict moderation to keep it from going to hell, though. seriously, all off topic, or inflammatory remarks should be deleted or moved immediately, and any repeat offenders should be put on time out.

Well I can see the logic of a forum where folks can talk a little trash or discuss who's doing what with horsepower, dyno records or what ever.

Unfortunately you completely missed the point that some of us tried to make that there are legitimate techincal discussions that relate more to drag racing then they do to generic specialty forums.

They should not be tied to factory forced Induction, or transmission, or suspension, but are specifically relevent to 1/4 mile racing.

Many of these issues touch on several of the above, but involve complex issues that make sequestering them into a single topic technical forum impractical, or at least ineffecient.

Questions like, launch technique, upgraded gears/transmissions intended for the 1/4 mile, chassis setup issues, aerodynamic issues, weight balance issues, data logging from 1/4 mile runs and possible mods aimed at short duration acceleration, like IC super cool setups, N20 configurations, etc. etc.

In one posting you could easily end up discussing the interaction of several of these technical areas.

I for one will probably never post again in this forum because it will not be worth plowing through all the dross to find any useful information.

Now can we also have a "technical", 1/4 mile forum ?

This forum sucks becuase the moderator ryaneat whatever ain't cool and is deleteing threads and stuff like that the moderators on the FFI almost never did - - I like the moderators on the FFI forum the best

deleting threads is stupid, unless they are duplicates or completely out of place.

calling the moderater of a thread 'mom' shouldnt result in a missing thread.
