A customer sent his 99 Vette to us to race prep. We did a crap load of stuff to it but to make a long story short, on a stock bottom end without nitrous or forced induction we made 425.4hp@6,700rpm's and 389lb/ft@4,500. Those numbers are at the tire. Corrected it is about 495hp at the crank. Our A/F monitor was reading rich so if we actually got it to where we want it I am thoroughly convinced it would have made 440hp to the tires. Anyway, just thought I'd add some American car numbers here.

But I still love this little fuqer! i bet you their build numbers are about $10g's short of lingenfelters and notice he said STOCK BOTTOM end....lingenfelter is great, but you pay a premium, you don't want a monster power vetter that's going to be raced, because big power makers break alot.

CAI (vortex, vararam?)

On a 6spd, that should be good for 420 - 440 at the wheels with proper tuning (powerloader, ls1edit, ed wright?)

I love our cars, but the new vette is a good car
works with the chicks. but once they see the subie, they like that too. I miss my WS6, even though it was a long big rattle trap.

Wy just installed a Nitrous system on a C5 Vette with a Lingenfelter stroker motor (383cid). It only put 398hp to the rear wheels.

Now, If I were to do a $100k project with a 7.4L aluminum LS1 ($7,000 just for the bare block) and twin turbo it I could make big horsepower also. We did a vette with less than that that put 852hp to the rear wheels (that's 988hp at 16% loss) with only 15lbs. of boost from a Vortech blower.

Lingenfelter makes good numbers but nothing better than the other Vette shops out here. He has made a name for himself and gets a lot of press. I'm not taking anything away from him, he does build great motors. I just wish people could realize that with Vettes anyway, pretty much any reputable shop can make the same amount of power.

great. so you must have something like an 11 or 12 second quarter mile time. that's excellent. you should be in the subaru 1/4 mile registry, unless you are already. they don't put nicknames in the registry, so i don't know if you are there or not. if you are beating LS1 corvettes, you must be in the top 5 for sure.

Nope, no good quarter mile times to brag about. Sorry. With a driver not scared of breaking the tranny, I could post some good times. And since I drive LS1 Corvettes every day, and then drive my car home every night, I'm pretty aware of what it can do. However, that being said, I'm dialed way down to 5-7psi right now and pretty slow, but still faster than a stock WRX. :rolleyes:

Making fun of older beat up hondas and dsms, not knowing they are a few seconds faster than them.

The point is, it's just hard to keep track of all the times (2.5, 2.0, and 2.2 powered) with misc off-topic posts. No one said anything about another WRX vs RS thread. We all know the differences Get over it or get a faster car. I love seeing 2.5 and 2.2 dynos.

haha, I've read your posts before. I just quoted the last post because contained some 'questionable' possibly flame starting material. That was for the ones above it.

I love all cars, in fact I spend most of my time building cars other than subarus. I'm just dishing it back at the RS guys who like to "make more power at half the psi." All in good fun guys.:p

Can the Mods please lock this. The point of this thread was not to start a flame war. It was mearly to point out that there are other cars on the road and some of us here are enthusiasts and enjoy hearing about other people's dyno numbers regardless of what car. If I would have posted Viper or Ferrari numbers from a car I dynoed I'm sure I would not have gotten flamed.

To those that don't like the post: Sorry to take up precious bandwith and space that could have been used to talk about your WRX. I don't generally get involved in flame wars. One good way to stay away from them is to not post in someone's thread unless you have something constructive to say. What will you accomplish by posting negative feedback in a thread other than causing tension in our club? is that your wish? Are you trying to alienate yourselves more and make us GC8 owners become more and more offended by what you bring to the club? I hope not. keep an open mind. If you don't like the thread, ignore it. From now on, I will put what kind of car the dyno run is from in the thread title so you know not to click on it.

To those that gave positive feedback: I'm glad to see that there are still people on this club that actually enjoy cars and enjoy seeing what else is out there on the road. Thank you for your feedback. I hope to continue to keep you updated on our future projects.
