View Full Version : :( Someone stole my STi radiator cap at Englishtown!

Since I didnt have the time or money to go to Carlisle this year, I went to Englishtown for Sunday's car show and NIRA drag racing. The weather was beautiful, and there were tons of cool cars. I had my car entered in the show since it only cost an extra $5 to do so, and I figured I could keep an eye on it all day. Well, it didn't help. I went off to get something to eat, and since the judges were wandering around, I left my hood up. People were taking passing glances at it's immaculate cleanliness anyway http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif , and I was only going to be away for 10 min. Wrong! I was on a cheesesteak line for a half hour, and when I got back, my chrome STi radiator cap was gone. I went nuts! People came up to me and told me that they felt bad, which was nice of them, and a security guard had me fill out a report, but I'll never see the cap again. Then I had to call home and have my parents drop off my stock cap just so I could drive home later!!

Let this be a lesson to you. I had to learn the hard way, and now I'm out the $65 it cost me for my cap. NEVER let your eye off of your car in a show!! Always lock it up, even if you think you will be right back, because it never happens like that. It's a shame that fellow car enthusiasts can be such scumbags, and it dosen't help the "import car enthusiast" stereotype of being a scumbag, ala "Icy Hot Stuntazz."

There was one consolation. I made a few new friends, and I also got a nice big trophy for "1st place in class" for Subaru! That made me feel better, but it wont replace my cap. I'll have to send Pam at ISR an order for another one, and weld it to my radiator!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

PS... If someone around NJ tries to sell you a chrome STi radiator cap without the packagind stuff, give him a kick in the a$$ for me!

That kind of craqp just plain sucks. I kind of got the feeling from the other scooby owners that I met that we had a little tighter bond and more respect for each other than most other car owners. Case in point, my buddy has a Civic Si and has had his Si badge stolen at least 3 times.

People suck....bottom line.

I can just imagine your wonderful STi radiator cap on some thiefs $hitty Honda.

Not that I'm stereotyping or anything....

I'm not surprised. A friend had his valve stem caps taken at a car show. They were some brand that has their logo on them like Volk or something like that. Anyways how big a cheap ass theiving bastard can you get? Oh to chop off hands for stealing.....

Ha! I had some cheap chrome valve stem covers on my 99 Cougar that were ripped off in my college parking lot! I must have a target on my car or something.

That sucks bigtime...

Although thieves aren't the worst... people who key cars are the worst...

Dude!!.. So sorry to hear that. I wondering why people are so inconsiderate. And to think, where is that person going to put the cap unless he has a Subaru and if it was a Subaru person who stole, he deserves to go to Subie Hell...

Thanks for the words guys!

Ejicon: I was thinking the same thing, there were maybe 5 Subies at Englishtown Sunday, but I guess someone saw something shiny and swiped it. With any luck, the moron's Pinto will blow up after he tries to drive it with an STi radiator cap. One last bit of justice...

Jim

I also got a pic of me, the trophy, and the car, so if the pic isn't too horrible, I'll post it. It was my second show with my car, and my first prize!
