Since I didnt have the time or money to go to Carlisle this year, I went to Englishtown for Sunday's car show and NIRA drag racing. The weather was beautiful, and there were tons of cool cars. I had my car entered in the show since it only cost an extra $5 to do so, and I figured I could keep an eye on it all day. Well, it didn't help. I went off to get something to eat, and since the judges were wandering around, I left my hood up. People were taking passing glances at it's immaculate cleanliness anyway http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif , and I was only going to be away for 10 min. Wrong! I was on a cheesesteak line for a half hour, and when I got back, my chrome STi radiator cap was gone. I went nuts! People came up to me and told me that they felt bad, which was nice of them, and a security guard had me fill out a report, but I'll never see the cap again. Then I had to call home and have my parents drop off my stock cap just so I could drive home later!!
Let this be a lesson to you. I had to learn the hard way, and now I'm out the $65 it cost me for my cap. NEVER let your eye off of your car in a show!! Always lock it up, even if you think you will be right back, because it never happens like that. It's a shame that fellow car enthusiasts can be such scumbags, and it dosen't help the "import car enthusiast" stereotype of being a scumbag, ala "Icy Hot Stuntazz."
There was one consolation. I made a few new friends, and I also got a nice big trophy for "1st place in class" for Subaru! That made me feel better, but it wont replace my cap. I'll have to send Pam at ISR an order for another one, and weld it to my radiator!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

PS... If someone around NJ tries to sell you a chrome STi radiator cap without the packagind stuff, give him a kick in the a$$ for me!
