View Full Version : What happens when you're the fastest?

So I've got some plans in the works for my car. If I do this I'll have a pretty powerful motor, possible up there with the top dogs...but what happens when I get there? The reason I ask this, is I just read the entire thread about USA most powerfull WRX and several other, and I'm a little disappointed on the responses.

Its funny, I think about last year, Imprezer set a 1/4 goal that I hoped to beat, then shortly after Al barely broke it. So that was my new goal...now it seems like in order to be the "best" you have to have a 1/4 record and the Dyno record. (of course that 1/4 is "slow" combared to today's results)

So anyways, if my RS becomes (hopefully) one of the most powerfull Subarus, what will the responses be. If I put out more power then say Al's or some tuners WRX, will I be bashed and will excuses fly that I have a 2.5L, and since I live in a cooler climate area that the clouds and rain add to my extra power

When this happens, the way this forum is goeing I'm not sure if I would want to post my results regardless if I ran a 10sec 1/4 or put down 500hp.

Maybe this is sort of a rant, but seriously people, why don't you all just take a deep breath, be happy with the power or time your car runs and just CHILL out!!!!

**Oh and I only used Al's name, because he comes to mind more then anyone else :D Unlike other people, I dont' have a problem with him***

I'm pretty sure that once you're the _fastest_ subaru ever, somebody with a V8 will come along and beat you.

But seriously, there is a lot of flame around lately, 'specially in this forum. If you want to flame & bust out with overblown nitpicky arguments, then go to supraforums or something and post an almost-believable kill story. ;)

Well if you are modifying your car so that you can get acceptance from a bunch of keyboard racers then you've got other issues. Who cares what the people on a internet forum think. You could have the most powerfull subaru in the world and still be slower then the next guy. Skill of the driver has a lot to do with it also.

Some people on this board have to tell everybody what there plans are even if they aren't asked. They will just pipe in with some nonesense that nobody cares about. Why do I care if you are ordering this or if you are about to do this?? Some people need these kind of comments to try and make them feel better about themselves. Pretty rediculous. I hope you mod your car for yourself and I hope you have a good time doing it. :D

OK I really could have sworn I didn't make the title of the thread what it says...

Anyways yea mainly my post was just a rant on the attitudutes of people on this forum. But I do like to share with others what I've done to my car, but if it keeps up the way its been going I do think I will :(

Rest assured there are people that dont post times that are faster then people on these boards. They dont post there mods, times, or Hp because they are racers. Real racers dont brag on internet forums. In fact, many of these guys find it humorous to read posts reading "fastest in the US".

As someone below said, If you are building your car and racing so you can run home and post a time slip on this forum you need help. Real help.

Personally - for me - I just do it becuase "its there" - there must be stupider hobbies such as climbing mountains -- -what do you do when you finally get to the top ??? Just let me tell you - it feels good to get to the top - and it feels real bad to try to get there and fail - - - I keep on trying - - why ?? I don't know - but i can not stop myslef and don't want to !!!!

Its better than being a serial mastrabator - which is what some people do for fun !

The RS can't be fast! I'd think you would be pretty cool if you had the fastest car Ethan.

[very old smart guy from all those Kung Fu movies]

There is no fastest impreza.

[/very old smart guy from all those Kung Fu movies]

:D

There's always somebody faster. Pubescent punks never think there isn't a 9 second beast roaming the streets late at night, ready to kill their 13, 12, or 11 second import, and take those few hundred, or a few grand from their hand.

"What happens when you're the fastest?"

1) Women will swoon all over you,

2) You'll get lots of booty,

3) Lots of guys will swoon over you and your car, *EWW*

4) You'll break things,

5) Someone will go faster than you,

6) You'll get depressed,

7) More things will break as you go faster,

8) You then become a shaolin monk and give all of your go fast scooby parts away (To ME).

Seriously?!? You'll get respected and be hated by some. That's all!

I am still waiting to read more about some 10-11-12 second RS's. I tire of the WRX stories. *sniffle* :(

You think 10's are in the future? I'm wondering how well an RS converted to RWD would do at the track. Big ol meety slicks and such then crank out some serious boost. Why not convert a Subaru to drag only?

Nick..bite your tongue
i know, I was being sarcastic. It's funny to hear some newer folk talk about how superfast the WRX is when last I checked, and RS was still top of the 1/4mile registry.

Since you are not a WRX guy, the 'old-schoolers' will probably accept you with open arms and reward you with instant 'Specialist' status. Unless of course you use Nitrous, which is a crime punishable by eternal I-club contempt.
