I have a guy that wants to prototype a rear sway bar for my WRX. In order to use the design he has developed we would have to relocate the evap canister that is under the passenger side rear bumper area. We want to rotate it 90 degrees to make everything fit. My question is, is this a legal mod in STX?
Thanks for your help.

I am not sure about legal because I don't have the 2002 rule book but things to consider are the SCCA usually has the clause " if it is not specifically specified it is prohibited " or something to that effect and I thought STX has wording regarding the alteration and/or removal of emission control devices. Theses could be answered by someone with a rulebook pretty easily or by contacting the SEB at the SCCA for clarification.
However what is the benifit of this custom swaybar ? Unless it is some type of active swaybar ala Mercedes or something similar there is probably no need to go with special made parts. With all the various sizes and adjustable bars on the market you can pretty much go from 17mm-26+ mm in 1 mm increments. They are all pretty easy to adjust and hollow ones are not that much lighter to be a factor.
