BADWRX,

I am interested in non electronic HP gains.

Could you please list the mods ?.

Thanks

Branwell

Well, here you go...this is what it looked like. It is crying for some tunning, but doing great on its own. 258AWHP is a pretty fat number. Look at where the stock ECU is pulling out that timing, and look at this beeotch running pig ass rich!

Wow, that is very good power for a untuned WRX. What mods did you use to keep the HP high in the higher rpm band from dropping?

what are your mods? what did you do for fuel, timing. I would love to do the same.. Please PM me and list your mods. THanks

I think he has:
Blitz FMIC, PE1820, and STi Injectors for the major stuff. I could be wrong though.

Pretty close dori dori.

Also a 3" catless turbo back, and an sbcid and a blitz intake. That is it.

No detonation...at 17psi. I would have ran more boost, but the car before me hit the boost cut, and nearly lurched off of the dyno! It scared the crap out of the dyno dude!

The only downfall to the whole thing is the relatively low torque numbers.

With proper tunning, This mutha is gonna haul!

Andy how is the car running with those big injectors with out some type of fuel control?

Thanks
Eric

Torque is very fun, but it's also destructive!! Running that fast with relatively low torque means first gear will love ya hehe

Get a SAFC or some kind of fuel control...you'll be much better off IMO...although that kinda defeats the 'no electronics' part...but then, so does the sbcid.;)

SAFC, Andy :) It's time. You've got 70hp just sitting there, wasting away :)

Very very true...but now...she is going back to stock:(

I got an emissions ticket, and have to have an inspection and a California Air Resources Board Smog Referee Station! I am so focked!

I am leaning the way of the link...but I am still very weary.

Andy:rolleyes:

Don't mean to make you re-live the painful moment. But how did you get an emissions ticket? Did you get pulled over for something else?

Yeah I'd love to know how you got busted as well! I'm guessing you got pulled for something unrelated and then the cop decided to poke around under your car??

Is that what happened? Sorry for your misfortune.

Well,

He pulled me over for a "Modified Exhaust" then he decided to tell me that I "Looked like I was going a little fast" and then he decided to tell me that I was "Exhibiting a little speed".

I was only doing around 55 in a 45, but the cop did not know that, he did not know anything. He tried so hard to get me to admit to speeding. I stuck to my guns, and for that I was not cited for speeding, or "Exhibition of Speed". Thank god. Still no moving violations!:D

He did make me pop my hood, and since I have a Blitz LM Intake, and no "Paperwork" on it, he cites me for having a "modified emissions system" and no front license plate, and an "inadequete Exhaust" I have a BPM GT turbo back.

He then advised me that my car was officially "86ed off of the road" and that I had to drive it straight home and not drive it again until it was inspected by a state official.

All the while I was like thinking in my head, "Yeah buddy, I just won't drive it in your pathetic city!"

Anyways, that is the story...

wow that sucks are you in CA? I've been thinking of moving to CA, but I hear they are tough on emissions and that's holding me back :)

How are you running the bigger injectors with no controller or ecu upgrade?

GDA
07-15-2002, 01:27 PM
The STI injectors will work fine when you have other things in the equation right.

for instance bad installed the FMIC and injectors as a pair to offset each other in air/fuel.

He is running the stock ecu, and the ecu needs some driving to re learn the larger injectors, although you will be running pretty rich, but drives fine from what i see on the dyno sheet, and from what he tells me.

I also plan to do the same when i install my FMIC.

good luck

GDA

Exactly like the man above me said...Turn up the boost, make sure that you are venting back into the intake, and you are on your way.

My car is not longer a beast. I bet that i am putting less than 180 to the wheels.

No FMIC, no exhaust, all 3 cats re-installed, no intake. Just a EBC, Injectors, and PE1820!

It will not be this way for long. My car is sick! I have to have it inspected...WAY TOO SLOW!!!

It's no wonder Shiv's setup leaves the exhaust in place and the intake... talk easy on the visuals... god.. for THAT reason alone I'd never move to cali.

That... and the gas..
