View Full Version : Link master fuel and fuel flow% question

Does anyone know the mechanism that the Link uses for changing the amount of fuel that goes into the engine when raising or lowering the master fuel setting? The manual says "MASTER FUEL Controls overall fuel injection scheduling". When looking over various prior posts the master fuel setting for some is as low as 86 as high as 92. If you raise master fuel by one number is this the same as increasing every cell by one number? Also, how do we relate the fuel number in one cell, say the 205 idle, which some people put at 92, some at 97, in relation to the differeing master fuel numbers?

Also, what does the FF% number really mean. I have a PE1818 turbo running at around 19PSI on the stock FPR with STI injectors. The Link shows my ff% going to 99% at 5000 rpm. Is FF% the same as injector duty cycle?

FF% is fuel flow percentage - I read that as injector duty cycle. If you're driving to 99%, I'd be very worried Paul... what is your o2 sensor reading at that point? I know you have injectors and the fuel pump to handle that turbo, maybe your flooding out your engine.....

I BELIEVE the master is as you have described it - Mine is at 86 for example, because I have my adjust fuel pressure regulator set to 50psi at idle.. plus fuel rails, plus upgraded fuel pump. I don't see messing with that makes much of a difference though, unless your entire map is lean/rich.

I would have to agree. The MASTER fuel setting has nothing to do with the cell fuel values. If you have a lower master fuel setting you may need to increase the cell values because your overall fuel would be less.

I'd also say you're running rich....very rich. I usually hit around 85% max at a sustained rate (not sure if that means injector duty cycle or not)....
