I have a 2000 2.5 RS impreza. I noticed these pieces of fabric that looked like lint floating around the floor, and was wondering where they had come from, well today i found out. it's from a hole in my carpet where I rest my heal under the gas pedal when i drive. I obviously need a new carpet. i have two questions. Is this covered under my bumper to bumper warranty? I guess i can call my local dealer for that answer. But really i don't want another carpet from subaru, i think they are flimsy. Does anyone know where I can get an aftermarket rug for my car or something? I would be greatfull if anyone could help me. I know i should have used my floor mats, but after my friends so nicely spilled food and soda on them soo many times they started to smell, so i dumped them and hadn't gotten mats right away. My friends cars don't have mats and their carpets don't wear like mine do all over (they don't drive subarus). Does anyone else have this problem?

What you need is a floor mat to keep your heel off the carpet. You should NEVER put your feet on the carpet in the car or you'll destroy it.

Get your dealer to replace your carpet under warranty. Two of the RS's in the area (Tampa) have recently had theirs replaced because of holes.

I know, but it's too late i need a new carpet and want to know where to get one. Aftermarket prefferably since the factory carpet gets destroyed way too easily.
