Well today I had to reinstall the stock intake to my car and boy could I tell the difference or what. And the worst of it is my car doesn't feel that fun to drive anymore. I better hurry up and pass my smog test.

LMFAO!!! why not just get a Intake with a CARB EO number?? jeremy WRSport 07-20-2002, 02:58 AM Originally posted by HndaTch627 LMFAO!!! why not just get a Intake with a CARB EO number?? jeremy Since when is there an intake with CARB numbers? RaceCarRiot 07-20-2002, 12:44 PM the only one is the AEM, which A) doesn't work ;), and B) doesn't fit MAF cars. Dre2932 07-20-2002, 05:11 PM Well I'm not going to put the JC Sports intake on I think anyhow. After I get it back from the body shop I'm going to do more to the suspension and then work on the engine afterward. I'll be sure to post pics of the car once I get it out of the shop. We have a yearly test in which emissions are tested, (plus a lot of other things), is it similar?? Skylab 07-21-2002, 03:23 PM Yes, they are one in the same. Emissions tests come five years after the purchase of a new car, then, two years there after. (California law) Skylab™ N/A 07-21-2002, 06:47 PM Luckily upstate NY doesn't require that useless inspection junk. Yet another reason for moving out of CA. RaceCarRiot 07-22-2002, 01:22 PM Originally posted by HndaTch627 well ain't that a bitch....my bad guys hehe, no prob...i suppose someone could cut one up to fit the MAF sensor if they were so inclined, and then have an intake with an EO#. *wink wink* i've never understood how an intake affects emissions like an exhaust potentially could, but i guess that's what you get in the socialist republic of california...this is why i like FL...as long as you don't have parts clearly physically dragging on the road, you've passed inspection. -adam- jdmimpreza 07-22-2002, 02:36 PM I passed my smog test with a K&N cone filter on my old Intake(ghetto style), No probs. According to the smog station they have certain manufactures list of goodies that are allowed. Tkacik 07-23-2002, 02:05 PM Where I am currently living (Milledgeville Ga) we dont even have emission testing:D Mike M 07-23-2002, 03:42 PM Originally posted by STiTkacik Where I am currently living (Milledgeville Ga) we dont even have emission testing:D Yeah, but that's Georgia, where they'll let you marry your sister once she turns ten!   Sorry, just kidding....no offense to our members from Georgia....hell, half my family is from Louisiana and Mississippi, so I have no room to talk.... :) moogooob 07-23-2002, 06:46 PM Originally posted by Mike M Yeah, but that's Georgia, where they'll let you marry your sister once she turns ten!   OMG dude! Thats halrious! Dre2932 07-23-2002, 09:06 PM Well I ended up passing. So for now I'm going to leave the car in stock mode for a while. I'll wait till I get it out of the body shop and work on the suspension some more till I upgrade the engine more. Costas 07-23-2002, 09:10 PM No biggie, I passed NYC with an intake, just mak sure your car is running good.. Tune up never hurt! C |
