Guys, anyone who is going to STPR and would like to help out on Ralph Komides's WRX( Group N I think) should e-mail him at rkosmides@rubys.com . I recieved an e-mail from him yesterday, but I will probably be busy displaying W&L Subaru's tuned WRX most of the weekend. So he asked me to pass the inquiry along.

Not sure what it involves, but drop him an e-mail for all the info. You probably won't be doing much since it is a Subaru and they don't break too often http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

If any of you are thinking about getting into the sport, this is a great way to get started. You get your hands on a rally car, get to talk the driver and co-driver at length, get to be involved with the event and a team, and you get to go to all the parties.

Yeah.. it's great to be part of a team and all.. but.. be prepared to work under pressure. I've seen rally teams in action during the service.. and they have to work fast. I don't know the rules over there, but normally there is only a certain amount of time to do any service on a car at the service point. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif let's just hope you don't have to help replace a gearbox in less than 30 minutes. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Fortunately, that is kinda rare. Although, at my first rally (ever!), I ended up running service for someone. We were just walking around talking to people and checking out the cars. One of the drivers was cleaning his car, told us that his service crew couldn't make it, and asked us if we wanted to help. His crew chief made it, but that was it. We said, "Sure!" and the next thing I know, I'm under the car changing a center link and adjusting the alignment. At the halfway point in the rally, the clutch broke. We managed to change the clutch in time for the restart. What a wild time. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

Anyway, it was definately a worthwile experience.
