Ok CART fans, what do you think? Will Zanardi be a factor...will this be Micheal's year...how will Ganassi's young guns fare?

I'm thinking this will be the most interesting year in CART in quite a while.

Go Tracy!!!
I am rooting for him.
As for Zanardi, he will win a race or 2, but be hounded by mechanical glitches.
Ganassi's "Young Guns" will do respectably, but they won't be the next Montoya

I forgot to mention Penske! Gil and Helio. Maybe a repeat of last year?

It will be interesting to see what Fernandez can do with his new team this year. My bets are on Andretti though, I think Team Green can get it done with Micheal. Tracy......I just don't know about that guy. He seems to have two speeds: fast and crash! He is getting better in his old age though.

I can't wait! I'm definetly going to at least two races this year: Detroit and Michigan Speedway. Maybe I'll go to Cleveland, that's a great race to see.

I would love to go to the Michigan 500 again. Undoubtedly the greatest race I've ever attended. (1998) Lots of drafting. insane speed, and a view of the entire track!
Has anyone else been to a superspeedway race? Waay more fun than attending a street circuit!

Fred - Gil and Helio may have an advantage again if Penske continues to have a chassis advantage with his custom "Reynske", (or was it "Renske"?) modified Reynard chassis. I haven't kept up with the off-season developements, so don't what Team Penske and the other Reynard teams have done for the off-season.

BTW - I would highly recomend the trip to Cleveland, as some of my friends have been going there the last two seasons, and it is as fan-friendly as it looks on the boob-tube. From the stands you can see a majority of the track, and it is fun. Crews and drivers are pretty accessible as well.

Trev555 - My first Superspeedway races were CART Fontana in '98 & '99. I have to say that I didn't think those races were as exciting as the MIS races. To top it off, I saw one of my favorite drivers die, (RIP Mr. Moore http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif ). Consequently, I passed on a free ticket last season, and would probably do so again. Mostly for personal reasons, since Moore's death really bothered me...

tluzzi - Who did Vasser end up with this season? I always like to see a california kid do well...

Bonzo - I'm jealous. RA is _the_ US track that I want to see in person, but have yet to make it out there!

Last season I did Long Beach. Since I am local, I have been most years since the good old days when they ran F1 in the LB streets.

I also flew to Indy to watch the return of the USGP, and that was a great show. It is great to have two F1 races on our continent again, and I would recomend the USGP to anyone. Nice course, nice facilities, and a real trip to see screaming gasonline powered F1 cars running around the hallowed grounds of the brickyard.

OnTheGas,
I can honestly say you are VERY correct about Cleveland. I was there in 98 when Zanardi won it. My friend knew somebody who was involved with the race and we got ALL ACCESS passes! It was awesome! The only problem was we had no grandstand seats. That wasn't a problem since we got to hang out in the pits and the photographer areas during the race. I even got to see the cloud of smoke that was Zanardi donuts! Dammit, I'm calling for tickets tomorrow.
