what class would the Impreza run in in SCCA club racing? im not talking about auto-x. club racing is the class where multiple cars race on a track all at once. there are several different classes (formula vee, mazda spec, ford spec, touring, etc. etc.) and their website (www.scca.org) doesnt have the impreza on their list of car classification.

It won't be any of the normal stuff, except ITE which is a catch-all and there are some ridiculously fast cars in it.

If this is a serious question, my answer would be to look at the rules for Trophy 2 and the Speedvision World Challenge Touring Car class. I have no idea if boosted cars are allowed there, but of the two T2 is definitely cheaper to compete in.

I seem to remember that AWD cars aren't classed... probably a leftover from when Audi Coupes were cleaning house in the "amateur" series (Trans Am, etc) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

If it's in there, it'll be wherever they class Audi 1.8T Quattros or S4's

see thats the class i though it would be in (touring). thats where most of the comprable vehicles (mr2, supra, etc.) are i believe. i sent for a info package from scca with current vehicle class listings. well see when i get it.

Gearhead is right. No AWD cars are allowed in SCCA club road racing.

Perhaps Subaru's huge push toward performance enthusiasts and their deal with the SCCA (every WRX gets a SCCA membership) will force the SCCA to get a clue regarding the classing of Subies in Solo I.

Things are OK in Solo II, it's ridiculous why Solo I can't pull it together.

In the Southeast, you could probably race it in SPO. Of course, you're battling 600HP Corvettes and the like.

I happen to have a Neon ACR sedan, bought it in July 1994. It's a bit rough right now, but my plan is to clean it up, and sell it.

Not a bad little car, but it's no RS.

The other bonus is that Neons depreciate so much faster than Civics the price of used vehicles is not even remotely comparable.

In fact, there are a couple of 97 Neon ACRs over on sccaforums.com for $5000.

I know all to well about thier depreciation. I own four Neons, two of which I'm going to sell (not sure which two yet) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif I was going to sell them to make a lump deposit toward the principle on my 2.5RS but I don't think I'll get enough to even make a difference.
