Wow !! That's all I can say! I think that has to be the best rally coverage I have ever seen on TV.. Sponsored by Mitsu and of course an Evo 6 won, but again, wow !!

There was an Impreza too but it didn't finish due to gearbox problems. (Dammit!)

Great coverage of all the classes and the super-stage at the end too! All sorts of neat cars, (love that Mustang...always a place in my heart!) and trucks and all filmed from some really close camera positions..!

That muddy stage about halfway through in the mountains looked like hell though! Talk about a mud bog in that one section!

Anyway, hope the show is repeated because I missed the first few minutes, and next time I'll for sure have the VCR ready!!

I think it will repeat about 3-4 hours after first showing.
Check the
Speedvision (http://www.speedvision.com) website for a listing of show times.

Yeah, caught the tail end of the rally. Pretty awesome. I haven't raced yet, but I'm planning on taking my WRX to the track this summer. It's painful thinking of putting my WRX through the abuse in the dirt. I may stay only on the track!
Anyone else feel that way about their cars?

How nice was that http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif

A whole one hour coverage of USA Rallying ..

I think I just died and went to Heaven http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Great to see the drivers "working" the Cameras especially raising money for a Kids charity and with the "head cam" thingie for ya "average Punter".

A very well organised rally designed for maximum TV exposure..

Many other rally organising teams could learn a huge amount from the team that organised that event with regards to the PR/Media side of things..

*Oh.. Hang on* I had NOTHING TO DO with organising it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Oh yeah and nice to see the SUVS doing SOOO well in Rally http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

Errm I'm being facetious on that last sentence. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Arctic,

That Impreza that was giving Rhys Millen a hard time was the Rally Knight Impreza driven by Lon Peterson. They were leading overall for a good portion of the first stage, but the gearbox crapped out 6 miles into the 2nd stage on Saturday.

All I have to say is, wait for Tennessee... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif Rally Knight has 2 new heavily modified 4EAT's that are full manual, and can take all the punishment that the engines can dish out.

My car is getting a CARB pending turbosystem from Rally Knight too. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif

Very cool. Good coverage. I don't know much about the USA rallying, but I hope more of this to come. Is there any of this in the east.

Question: Does anyone know if Lon Peterson will be driving that Scooby any more this season?

I have seen him drive in person before, and he is very good, so I'm pleased to see him in some nice equipment. I wonder if the tranny problems will be made to go away in future events...

Unfortunately, I don't get SV http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif, so I missed what sounds like an excellent broadcast of US Rallying...

OTG,
Lon will definitely be driving the car at Tennessee and at whatever other events he can make.

There is a rally school being held later this year that he's been asked to instruct at, as well as a skidpad school at the San Bernardino Sherrif's training facility that he'll be instructing at as well.

Yah, I saw it last night and it was a lot of fun to watch... my mom even showed interest! Huge suprise! Think I might have to get the "Mom and Dad" sponsorship sticker for my rally car... j/k http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif Too bad I didn't know about it earlier otherwise I would have recorded it. Oh well...
