Talking about the showroom models, I think most of the guys are blinded by the fact that the car is a TURBO. Most of you will propably be making sacrifices, even if it is deep down inside, of style for reliable, warrantied, POWER.
Just my thought, mind you that I did start this thread to converse about the WRCar.

totally agree..who needs a warranty when you have a killer body style (gawd i love the current body http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif ), with a built ej25 or ej20 swap...so many people read turbo, warranty, etc. and are blinded by the ugly lines http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

that and SOA can now jack your warranty for installing a boost controller when your motor blows. hahaha. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif or when you put in a front mount intercooler and your tranny dies..you get the point..even a turbo timer i feel will become a mute point and the dealers will give hassles becuase it shows the owner beats on the car and thus warranty will get yhanked http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif

Damn the new Impreza is ugly, I know this has been discussed for a while now, but I am strictly refering to the WRC Impreza comparison now. Its been through 2 WRC events now, and looking @ all the pics of it in action, and then comparing it to last years spec. I can't belive what a change for the worst Subaru has taken. I mean it seems to me that the rest of the WRCars have take a turn for the better (visually) w/ the exception of Subaru.

I agree completely. Look at the EVO VI compared to the Evo II..sure the evo II is classic..but the 6 is downright beautiful http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif

Also..i just love the old car..seeing teh new one in person well..i sadly still don't like it 1/2 as much as i love my NA 2.5RS..sure i would love if we got the good turbo motor and other goodies (read: STi http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif ) even in the new body..but i mean it is kinda ugly..don't ya think? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

I'm with Flash 100 percent. Having been watching or at least reading about the Impreza in the WRC since 93, the new one is fantastic and refreshing change. But, when it comes to a topic like this, it is stricltly opinions, so what does it matter.

Plus, although it's not identical, it's nice to see the new WRC look very similar to the showroom WRX, not a one-off( or a 400-off if you consider the 22B) like the old WRC car.

Here's my take on the WRC car...

I like the fact that it's a 4 door and it looks good FROM THE SIDE.

It looks like complete ****e from the front. Ever since the first pics of the WRC were released, they front end looked like crap to me. The Stock STi lights look WAY better.

Also, if they blackened the intercooler it would look way better.

From the side the car looks awesome. From the front, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. I like the headlights, but the fender flares on the WRC are downright awful!! They arent nice and sculpted and rounded. They look like some aftermarket bolt-on fender flares. The previous body style looked like thats how the car was, all muscular fenders. But the new one is gross.
Just compare the 2 pics at the top of the thread.
Like I said though, from the side it is hot.

I think the new design is settling in. Already I find the old style getting old and dated. By Christmas time when we see alot of these new age Imprezas running around, we will find our models like the old boxy Subaru GLs. hahahahaha.... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif I'm sad too but it's true. At least by the time (2years from now) when it really looks dated, I am ready for the new style since it will be the norm by then. I see everyones point about the WRCar looking OK from the side. But the front is BUSTED. Maybee it will look better when one of the drivers hits something, not enuff to damage internals, but just enuff to continue the rally w/ a revised front-end lookhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif

I dont like the look of the STOCK WRX, but lower it about an inch, put on some nice looking rims, and add those clear fog lamp covers and I think it looks terrific. better than a stock RS...a lowered RS with cool rims is another story.
