Heres my story:
I am a Hardcore Nissan Silvia/GTR/4WD Fan also.
I wanted a '98 Nissan 240SX and convert it to S15 Silvia Spec-R, but... Apple Stocks Crashed... so... I bought a '93 $3100 Impreza Base w/ black bumpers instead! But recently I replicated it into STi V.6 Styling (full body style), and in 2 months a Nu MY01 2.5 Engine/ECU/Tranny transplant. All costing total of 12000 or so with basically most new parts in it besides chassis. Seems like I'm beginning to fall in love with this Scooby deeper everyday =P .
But I determined that I will sell it eventually in a yr or two for that Silvia Spec-R (6spd. 240HP w/ Nismo crap). Both of these cars are so of good potential and destinct. Which car do you guys think weighs it pound for pound? (besides Rallying that is) Hehe =)

I wouldn't put that kind of money ($9000)into a car if I planned on selling it within a year or two. Especially if said car was only worth $3100 when I bought it. Is it really going to be $9,000 to turn a 93 L into an RS http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/eek.gif That seems crazy.

A better investment would be to pick up one of the lightly used RS'es that are being sold for dirt cheap here and drive that for a couple of years. You will be able to get within a couple of grand of what you paid for it when you go to sell it for the Nismo. Plus you will have a waranty, better interior and all the parts will be from the same year.

BTW If the Silvia comes over with a 6 spd and 240hp, the hybrid L/RS you are creating isn't even going to be comparable in performance. The WRX would be a much better comparison.

i don't think it will be worth anything to anyone else except to you.. a person who will know enough to apreciate what you built will buy a wrx instead or a turbo'd 2.5 the sad thing is when you build a car you lose money when you sell it.

How much do you think my car will be worth in two years then?

It'a a custom interior, with RS seats, and STi interiors and body, and all that clear corner, cluster, emblem and other appearance crap, and wings, with 2001 motor and tranny at about 20,000mi odo?
-5Zigen Intake/Exhaust/Suspension/Wheels, WRX Stuts, Engine Balancing, and all that crap performance projected @ N/A 120..HP of the wheels about (~190HP crank)

Do you think I can get $9000 off it?

Probably not, but that depends a whole lot on what the final product was like and more importantly, if you could find someone willing to pay that.

Why not look for prices on heavily modded 93 Eclipse GSX/Talon TSi AWDs? Bet they don't get a great deal of gain out of their mods.

if your gonna spend 9G on a motor transplant call rallispec and go WRX transplant.

NOOO! 9G is total including tax/shipping with motor/wrx offroad body/awd tranny/RS seats, STi accessories, sport suspension, basically... what a nice MY01 with v.6 stuff would look like besides the damn fact that its 93.......

I don't want to be mean, but that wasn't to good of an investment. If you will eventually buy the 240 SX, then you should have just driven around a stock impreza for the next two years, while saving all of that money. You probably won't gain any money off of the "Replica" RS that you have right now.
