I owna 94 wrx and in the mornings when it is cold i start my car and i get smaoke coming from the exhaust (not steam). The smoke is a bluey white colour and its not a lot but its there. It is only there when the car has been sitting there overnight and will only be there for about 5 mins when im warming up the car.
Any ideas on what the hell is going on?
You're burining oil. Blue smoke is almost always a sign you are burning oil. How can you fix it? No idea if you could DIY though.

I'll bet you a nickel it's just the seals around the valve stems if it only happens on warm up. As long as you don't go through a quart a week, you're ok ;). My 90 RX turbo did that too. Just a sign of an older engine :D.

Check your head gasket. Your engine is burning oil. (as stated above). As the engine heats up the metal in and aroudn the engine expands to cover the cracks/gaps in the gasket. I have seen a lot of this on domestics.
Something to worry about? Not right now. but the cracks/gaps sometimes get worse. It depends on how you drive your car. And I know if I had a real WRX how I would drive it.......
