Curious..got some things on my car..that are a pain in the a.. to replace..especially out of my own pocket..so atleast you guys know if an insurance company will cover that..if so..does my premium go up?

my Insurance will cover 10k of after market stuff. premium went up like 10 bucks a month. Only thing is i need proof of purchase if i want it needs to be replaced

Insurance will pay you up to factory replacement value less your deductible.

So if your aftermarket parts are less than stock parts then you are going to be reimbursed up to stock price. (i.e. Replica V.5 wing is 300 plus paint then gets stolen, the replacement would be up to $690 stock price plus paint for a new wing.)

What is the name of your insurance company Jynx???

Mine (state farm) said they would replace stuff like rims. But if it is stollen then they will only pay the fair market value that is for that year/milage car.

I am looking for a policy that insures to replacement value. If anyone has a good one post for me or send and e-mail.

the way to find out is call yer company up and ask what their deal is.

one thing to consider, however, is that some companies will jack yer rates up if they know you've increased yer horsepower a bunch.

ya might wanna ask "what if" kinda questions to find out first, if that's yer situation, and then figger out what is worth doing/claiming.

-Call up ask questions like stated above.
-Don't document or claim any upgrades that increases the horsepower of the vehicle.
-Take occasional dated pictures.
-Keep (all) receipts if part costs more than the oe part it replaces.
