View Full Version : ImpreZa... ImpreZZa... what's the deal??
Jewbaru 06-14-2001, 11:13 AM I've seen people spell it ImpreZZa more and more. Why? On everything Subaru, and anything even mentioning the car, it's spelled with one Z. It seems the "knowledgable car types" are the only one's who spell it with 2 Zs. Why?
Dori Dori 06-14-2001, 11:21 AM It's actually spelled Imprezzzzzzzzzza. You are all wrong.
:D
The badge on my trunk sez
2.5RS
Impreza
:D
RacerinLSL 06-14-2001, 12:00 PM Joel, I tried researching this about a year ago and could not find out. I agree though, the people that say or publish it with two z's seem to be knowledgable. I don't know if it's in the translation or what.
Chad
I thought there were no "z"'s
doh!
andyC 06-14-2001, 02:31 PM Impretsa?
SubieKidTK 06-14-2001, 02:36 PM Mmmmmmm..pretzels *drools*
=Ty=
bryanw 06-14-2001, 02:38 PM Yea, it happens in the translation. It's pronounced "Impretsa". The "ts" sound is usually translated to a "zz" in translations (pizza, Mike Piazza). I really don't know why they can't look at Subaru's media kits or look on the G.D. back of the car to spell the name right. But the only thing I have to say is the world is full of morons.
akrieg 06-14-2001, 02:40 PM I prefer the 'Im-PRET-sa' pronunciation
Subie Gal 06-14-2001, 02:44 PM Im-prets-za is how the brits say it...

Jewbaru 06-14-2001, 02:58 PM ahh, ok, so it's just because they're morons, and think they're cool "translating" it into english the phonetically correct. It's always the cool "know it all" car types too. It's on the car, in all the books about the car, on TV, on the Japanese Web site... man, you think they wouldn't be idiots.
