I installed a new cd player last night... You can see it here:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pioneer/CDA/CarProducts/CarProductDetails/0,1429,21409,00.html

It has totally transformed they way it sounds...

Now my 2 10inch Image Dynamics IDQ Subs with a 400 watt Amp running at 2ohm get installed either today or saturday...

Very nice. I would like to see it sometime. Just seriously thinking of upgrading the stereo system too. Just have to weigh the price of speed to the price of BOOM.

Hey if you want to see it just give me a call or send me a PM... I might install the subs tonight, but I do not have anyway to keep the from moving around in the trunk...

A quick review eh?

Sound from Amp in deck: Pretty darn good for a in-deck amp!

Controls and features: Very nicely done controls lots of features that are control by only a few buttons.

Looks: Very clean and smooth unit. Matches up with the light and trip in the WRX. Very minimalistic design.

CD Playback : Plays even scratched well!

MP3 Playback: Sounds grea, can play Variable bit-rate MP3's ( unlike my friends HU), but there is a 4 second load time between mp3's. :( It is kinda annoying, but I still love the unit.

Sound from pre-amp outputs: Man what a difference 4volts makes!:D I have not heard my subs ever pound this hard. It is clean and clear...

I bought it from J and R audio at www.jandr.com for only:

 :D 320!!! And that includes shipping to alaska!

p.s. what I have used to hold the subs in position is a cable system that is run around the frame for the back seat. It needs a little more tighting, but it seems to worn REALLY well...

i dont know what your box looks like for the subs but on mine they just mounted 2 "L" brackets to the front of the box that then screwed into the bottom of the trunk, it seems to be working alright, i havent had it tip over or anything....just a thought in case your cable system isnt working out for you later....by the way your subs did sound preety good

Thanks dude... I should have listened to your too.. heheh The IDQ's are more of a Sound Quality Sub than SPL, so they work out great for me.
