View Full Version : Fog Light covers Locally?

Does anyone know where you can get Fog Light covers locally? I am doing a road trip to Sask. in Sept. (family there) and want to protect the fog lights. Do you think a Front end cover for a 02 TS Wagon would be a good idea? I am a little worried about all the trucks on the road.

I will try to call them tomorrow and ask but any Idea how much? And does anyone know what a 02 model Bra would cost?

I called Subaru in North Van about those clear covers and they don't have any in stock but "the boss" as the guy in Parts (can't remeber who i talked to) said he will be back next week and will see if he can order any.

Does anyone have the just the covers that come with the car when you don't get fog lights? I would be interested in getting them for a good price. Specialty doesn't have any right now.

Those Australian foglight covers are available in Canada for about $75.00/pr. I have 'em and they work great. Don't notice them unless you look closely.

The solid covers from the TS are a pain to install and remove since they are screwed in. Why would you want to install them, you won't get foglights to use anymore. My dealer wanted $20 each for take-offs.

You got it shipped from Australia or is there a local shop?

Hey warpdrive, in my case I wanted to have the ability to use the factory covers as they protect the lights when you are offroad running during the day. Of course you remove them at night to use the lights and take your chances you don't get a rock through one.

The covers I bought are orderable through your local Subaru dealer.
Cdn Part number #SCI700214

As far as the solid covers, these clear ones protect the light incredibly well already. There is a gap between them and the foglight and they sit on the surface with rubber feet. I don't see even the biggest rock getting through them.

Look here for some pix

Those are great. Do they fit the Hellas and Piaas by any chance?

I'm taking a trace of my factory covers to a fibreglass guy to see it he can make clear ones that sit flush with the body panel.

Something different anyway.

Unfortunately, no. The Hella 500's are slightly larger than the stock foglights.

However, you can get a similar clear foglight cover for the Hellas as well! Those Scandinavian people are bright, ya know! ;)

warpdrive - So you payed $75 right from the dealer? Those were just for the fog lights?

Just wondering but has anyone tried the 3M covers?

http://www.subaruparts.com/catalog/?section=176

For $50 US i wonder if its a good deal?

I got the 3M headlight and foglight covers installed at the same time I got the clear bra. The covers are much thicker than the clear bra stuff and it's very tough but still very clear. The only problem is that they don't go all the way to the edge of the lights, so if you're really unlucky (or rallying) you still might get a chip there. The other thing is that the curvature of the headlights makes installation hard. You need to be pretty skilled to do it properly. I'd recommend letting a pro do it. Some places have a 3 year warranty on breakage and peeling.

I'm assuming then you can get the clear foglight covers for the Hellas at any place that stocks them like Lordco?

wow those do look cool!

are they made of hard plastic or soft, cuz if its hard wouldnt it just crack if a rock hits it?

Yup, just the foglights. They are much cheaper in Australia but I didn't want to go through the hassle of mail ordering them. If I didn't like 'em, it's much easier to return.

They are a hard plastic so I guess they *could* crack with the right rock. But if they do, that would pay itself off already since it did the job of saving the foglens. I used to have a headlight cover for my other car and I've never seen one crack yet.

The 3M/Stongard type stuff has limitations in that if you get a big enough object, the lens still could still crack since there is no gap between the lens and the material.
