HAHAHAHAHAHA... no your not. thanks guys I will go with 9.7:1 -wop Kevin Thomas 06-14-2001, 06:04 PM What makes the '99 2.2L motor a 10.0:1 compression ratio? My '97 2.2L is a 9.7:1 compression ratio. If I wanted the same compression ratio as the '99 2.2L, what changes would I have to do? Change the gasket, pistons, both? Thanks! I was wondering how the '99 gained a little more horsepower and torque. SubyTechMaster 06-14-2001, 11:20 PM Without comparing part #s I'm not sure about the pistons, but the '99 is a Phase II (camcase design, much larger valves). I'll have both motors apart next week and I'll try to take some pics of the differances. ColinL 06-15-2001, 01:13 AM 9.7:1 donjuan 06-15-2001, 01:17 AM My owners manual says 10:1.
