View Full Version : when did they start making the RS? Matey 04-05-2001, 08:33 AM was it 98? or have they made it since 95? SuBart 04-05-2001, 08:37 AM They started mking the RS in 98. vicster 04-05-2001, 08:42 AM yeah, the rs appeared in '98 (with the gold rims). i think '95 was when the restyled imprezas appeared ('95-'01). bratmantlz 04-05-2001, 08:48 AM woo hoo 98!! and also coupes are going to be rare since the new wrx is only sedanhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif jymkata 04-05-2001, 09:16 AM By model year? 1998. Although I picked mine up in September of '97. Jim Matey 04-05-2001, 09:57 AM oh ok....i wasnt sure cause i want to get a RS but i dont know if i can afford one. bratmantlz 04-05-2001, 09:59 AM you thinkin of getting a L and modding it into a RS? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif KC 04-06-2001, 08:53 AM Matey (M80), Sorry to be the bearer of bad news... but a used RS will be around $12K - $13K when you turn 16 in November. Insuance in MA for a used 2.5RS will probably cost you around $2K/year. Ask around, for a kid just turning 16 with a car like the RS is NOT going to be cheap at all. --kC Fish 04-06-2001, 08:57 AM I can barely afford mine on the $5/hr I'm getting at subway.. looks like raimen for dinner again. [/sarcasam] heh Jude DeMeis 04-06-2001, 09:01 AM The RS is getting slammed in resale value by the new WRX. Everyone is dumping their RS for the new turbo car. The market is flooded with RS for sale. I don't see any reason you won't be able to get one for $10,000 to $11,000 very soon. I tried to sell a '98 RS for two months and finally someone bought it for $10,900. The economy is slow and the RS is not the "one to have" anymore. Make an offer to someone desparate to sell and you'll be surprised at the deal you might end up getting. Good luck! Flea 04-06-2001, 09:02 AM Heh, Jim, don't forget to at least buy some frozen peas to add to the noodles, at least they're healthier. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif |
