I registered myself on the i-club website back in January. I can edit my user information but it does not show up in any member list search. Either by first name, last name, user name, city, or state.

I looked at the new member registration page and it states:
"Once you are finished you will not appear in the list for about 5-10 minutes while your information is being added to the list. Please be patient, your information was recieved."

Well, I've shown the ultimate in patience. It's been 5 months and I still don't show up in the list.

Twice, I emailed Nick Catalfamo who is listed at the bottom of the Memeber list web page but havn't heard any response.

Any suggestions?

you know there are TWO members lists, right? The forum and the member section.... you have to register for each seperately.

Well that's because when you entered your information you didn't fill out any info about a car. I'm guess maybe cause you didn't have it yet. Hmmmm... I wonder... why wouldn't you show up in a members list for people that have Subaru's if you don't have one listed for yourself... that's a mystery. Either way you created a broken record in the database.

Maybe before you try to pull this sort of thing again you could have sent another e-mail trying to contact me before you posted on the board... hmmm... what an idea, then maybe you wouldn't look like such an jerk right now!

Did it even occur to you how much e-mail I get in one day? I guess not, I really try to be good about getting back to everyone that writes me, but sometimes I don't get to them all because other things come up like sleep.

Now back to your problem, since it's much more important than upgrading the forums, keeping the server running, getting merchandise ordered and shipped, and whatever else I am apparntly wasting my time doing. I have deleted your account so you can start over in the members list. This time enter a car and I bet your listing will show up in short order.

You've lowered yourself to the lowest of lows with senseless name calling. A practice in which I refuse to engage.

You'll note that I had made the same inquiry back in March or April and got no response hence today's posting to the General Forum as well as the email sent directly to you.

I call that poor database design!!!! Missing data on a record should never cause such a failure. Ever hear of NULLs?

Yes I know there are 2 lists. One of them had car info. The other (forum id) did not. I've updated both of them.

You couldn't be more mistaken about my motives. I truly appreciate the efforts that go into maintaining the i-club web site as well as the efforts of people such as Glenn Wallace in cooridinating Group buys and yourself in what you do.

I'm just sorry that your nose got bent out of shape because nobody thanked you lately or gave you a big teddy bear hug for your efforts.

I'll think long and hard before re-activating my membership account if this is the way you treat your members.

yeah that nick guy is a real jerk, I hate him, always trying to upgrade the server, maintain the server, getting products, paying for stuff he doesn't have to, you know stuff like that. You will have to excuse my apparently 'poor' database design. Oh well, I apparenlty didn't think of morons like you not entering your car info like the form asked for. Apparenlty that's my bad!

And name calling... yep... I did resort to that. If you were just trying to get your record fixed you would have been better off just posting a message here telling me you sent me another e-mail and explained it via e-mail. Or better yet sending me a PM. Did you try that, no... you went straight to the general forum and posted a big "Nick is Ignoring me" message.

Also, I think possible relizing how much stress I've been going through over the last few weeks might have tipped you off to be a tad more sensetive about this. I have pleanty of other things to worry about besides your 'self-broken' record.

I have no desire to continue this shouting match. It serves no purpose. I value the i-club as a tremendous resource that I have both benefitted by and contributed to. I simply want to slip back into relative anonimity and stay an active member of the
i-club community.

By the way, I signed up in January and my WRX was on order. I did not own a Subaru at the time and it wouldn't allow me to set up a WRX as my car at the time. I did not want to falsely represent myself as a Subaru owner at the time. That is why I left the car
information blank. As soon as I got my car, I added the information via the Update Member information screen. I didn't realize that the car information was being stored with the Forum login information as well.

Nick should be commended for his committment to this i-club forum and I had no intention of trying to minimize his work when I first posted my question to this forum. The fact that he teed off on me shows how much he cares for this forum. We've exchanged several emails and I hope that we can put this issue to rest.

I'd like to request that this thread be shut down as it serves no purpose except to antagonize and alientate people.
