View Full Version : I guess he didn't like my car
Skirvdawg 04-05-2001, 03:32 PM So I'm on my way home today after picking up my car from the shop and when I finally pull onto my street, some guy in a black Maxima with really dark tint and those stupid little lights that look like big fish eyes gives me a big thumbs down out his window. Not just a simple thumbs down, noooooo, this was a long lasting full arm down the window thumbs down he held out even after he passed me. What a dorkus.
wcbjr 04-05-2001, 03:39 PM dorkus...

Skirvdawg 04-05-2001, 07:09 PM Today was the first really nice day we've had since winter began, and it was like national give junior the keys to the aftermarket body kit bin day. I've never seen so many tricked out cars in one day around here.
A few minutes after I wrote the original post, I left to go to the store and on my way I saw a red civic (si?) with what looked like a prodrive wing on it full of kids. You know that sneering look that you get from those drivers that says, "You think you're cool? I could beat you any day?" That's the look I got. I at least paid the respect of taking the time to check out his body work. Anyhoo, further down the road I came upon a Jetta, 88 I think, that had one of those metal sedan racing series type wings. The kid driving that rust bucket put his hand up to his mouth and gave me a fake gasp and then started laughing along with his boyfriend in the passenger seat.
Oh well. I, and all of you, know the true inner beauty that is the Subaru. I don't care that some folks don't like the car or think they can beat it, what bothers me is the hateful attitudes from folks that don't even know me or the car.
What and you didn't give him the international "One finger way" back at him to let him know the feeling was mutual about his cr@p, or I mean car.
Revision 04-05-2001, 07:43 PM Don't pay mind to the silly games children play.
I mean, if they are serious, invite them out to the next AutoX and see if they can keep up...
And be friendly about it. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif
Hmm, want big brother to come and beat-up on some people on the Newport Bridge? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif

Skirvdawg 04-05-2001, 08:31 PM Yeah, KC, why don't you come down here with that shiny silver chariot and we'll go hunting for hondas with chopped springs? If I'm feeling generous, I'll even give you a bridge token.

markus 04-05-2001, 08:38 PM I wouldn't sweat it man.
I had no less than 6 people ask me about my car today nd all made very positive comments about it.
Maxima's??? ===> a dime a dozen
AccidenT 04-05-2001, 09:34 PM I get a few people that seem to like the car, but most people seem to be jealous ********.
FreaK 04-05-2001, 09:42 PM I think that's hilarious!
Perhaps even more cause the dude was driving a Maxima.
FreaK
motorsport 04-05-2001, 10:52 PM The thumbs down you got was the sign for the deprecation his Maxima will suffer compared to your beautiful Subie over the next few years. Or it could have been the sign for "you paid much less for a better car". Or he could be dyslexic. He meant to give you a thumbs up.

Kostamojen 04-06-2001, 01:12 AM Are you sure there wasnt a "kick-me" sign on the back of your car or something??? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/tongue.gif
I mean, Ive never heard about stuff like this all within one day... It just aint normal!
subymamma 04-06-2001, 08:51 AM Some people are mean. I was filling up one night one the way home. The neighborhood was not what you would call a good one. I'm staring off into space daydreaming, waiting for the pump nozzle to click and hear some raucous laughing. It's coming from an Escort type thing, as I said was daydreaming, not taking it in really. Then when I got in my car it dawns on me they were laughing at me to provoke me. I'm a lady old enough to be their mom. Wanted to spank some little boy ass but good thing I was in a daydream then. Boy, what jerks. Looking back I know they were just jealous because my wheels are nice, Team Dynamics, and they're just driving a piece of crap....
TimCat 04-06-2001, 09:01 AM I am sure he was just suggesting that you lower your car a bit and then it would be nicer looking http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif
2Point5RS 04-06-2001, 09:13 AM For every one person that simply hates it and dispises it...there's 10 that love it, and adore it. The odds are in our favor.
bratmantlz 04-06-2001, 09:18 AM but it only takes one to funk up your car... whats wrong with this world ehhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif
brainrally 04-06-2001, 10:06 AM And still nobody seems to notice mine. I guess there aren't many auto enthusiasts in my area. Most of the ones that are seem to be in Mustangs/Camaros/Firebirds. It's kinda dull around here. I hardly even see "are eye see eee!", and what there is has been minimal.
Other than the I-Club members, most of the Sube owners I've seen aren't enthusiasts, or don't seem to be.

dcoty 04-06-2001, 11:01 AM Ok, look what he's driving......and look at what your are driving.....end of story.

WRXster 04-06-2001, 12:00 PM Must be an East Coast thing, I wouldn't understand http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif
No, actually I had a couple of younger guys tailgating me a few days ago. Oddly enuff tailgating makes me slow down. They thought they were hot stuff when they whipped around me and pretended to cut me off... in their VW Fox... wagon...
You just can't help some people.
asusimpreza 04-07-2001, 01:45 AM I don't know why you guys get those reactions. I've been driving around in my new RS for like 3 months now and not even a look or comment from other drivers. Is it because i'm in LA and my Sub is debadged plus it being black.
