Once again, Carlsen rocks! I went over to the parts department today and borrowed the mounting template for the OEM spoiler and went to Kinkos and copied it on one of their huge copy machines. Came home today, mounted up the template and drilled the holes... The spoiler makes the back end of the car just look right, as if it wasnt finished before kind of...
I also got an extra template so that if anyon eever needs to borrow it they can and they can go copy it.

when you drilled the holes, did you put some kind of rustoleum or anything on the metal that got exposed (ie the sides of the metal) or is that even necessary?

Rustoleum, no... What I did was put some tape down where I was going to drill. That helped keep the rest of the paint un-efected (ie, no clear coat coming off) . That was the tip I got from a body shop...
If I were going to do it all over again, I would change one thing -- I would have not drilled at an angle at all. I accidentally drilled one hole at an angle and it pulled up the metal on one side of the whole so its slightly oval shaped. It'll never be noticeable, but I'm a perfectionist so it still bothered me..

yeah, but it's still a good idea to apply something to the exposed metal... rust can travel at the weirdest directions.
btw, i MAY need that template... :)
did you install an OEM wing?

You can come borrow it and take it to kinko's to copy if you want... it costs about $3.25 to make the copy on their HUGE copy machine.
Yeah I probably should put something on the metal -- I might get a bottle of touch up paint and use that...
