View Full Version : New WRX Buyers Beware
megabass 09-16-2002, 04:59 PM Just wanted to say that some lowlife keyed my brand new wrb wrx at Walmart yesterday in the afternoon. I had only had the car for only 2 weeks previously. This also happened to a friend of mine who had his for about a month or so. Too many haters out there... I hope whoever did this has a life full of pain and suffering and to his kids as well... Hoping some one could give me advice on whether I should have the whole side repainted or should I go to a detail place in my area. By the way, I live in Los Angeles and if anyone could provide a good detailer, I would really appreciate it.

Jazz95 09-16-2002, 05:12 PM Haters suck...there are too many over here on the east coast...
We had chumps ripping wings off of RS's last year... :monkey:

KilrWagn 09-16-2002, 05:22 PM I hate when people are so damn jealous or inbred that they can't appreciate a car superior to their damn P.O.S. civics and eclipses. My truck got keyed right before I sold it last year. Depending on how bad it is I would probably talk to a good paint shop. Mine was a long scratch but fairly light so it was cheap to have redone. That just sucks because that is such a beutiful car especially in rally blue. I went crazy when someone keyed my '92 Explorer but I can't even imagine a new Scooby. Anyway just ask around town for a decent body shop and get a professional opinion. Hope that helps.
:(
(P.S. Find that sorry bastard and send him back to mama:devil: :monkey: )
2k2BlackWRX 09-16-2002, 05:27 PM Depending on where the scratch is I would take it to a body shop and ask for an estimate.
If you think the body shop can blend the scratch in and make it look like it was never there then go for it, otherwise they might repaint it.

krazedant 09-16-2002, 07:20 PM OMG i truly hate people who do things like that. They really digust me. Just cause they cant find a decent job and get their own cars, they have to hate on everyone else who has a nice car. Nothing has happened to my rex yet, but the other night, my friend had his wing ripped off his GTi VR6 and the bastids didnt even take the whole thing! They ended up breaking the wing in half and my friend had to take it to a shop to have the rest of the wing removed and get the top/back of his car repainted  :monkey:
SUPER RAD 09-16-2002, 07:34 PM i'm sure a lot of us can understand. I get a lot of crap from schoolmates who think I'm a snob for driving a wrx while they cruise around in civics and integras spending all sorts of cash to keep them from breaking down and looking like anything EXCEPT a civic or integra.
What they dont know is that I worked hard 4 years saving up for my car and was lucky enough to have help from my parents. The way I look at it, they HAD to have their car at 16 yrs old and settled for what they could get at that time, while I waited and worked hard for the car I really wanted even if it meant not getting a car till I was almost 20!!. So even though I was the loser who had to get rides and take the bus in all of high school and freshman year of college, it paid off in the end. As far as I'm concerned the haters can eat my a** (and my dust as well).
majglow 09-16-2002, 08:05 PM Yeah, my white RS (my2000) got keyed too. I have to have 4 panels taken off and repainted. It sucks and is really expensive.
screw them.
DragII 09-16-2002, 08:07 PM ah man....sorry to hear....that is one of my biggest fears right now

LoL Rad, I totally agree with you there. I did the same thing, only difference is I'm 22 now, but at least all those years working my ass off in school and at work finally paid off waiting for my rex. :D
Imprezive2002 09-16-2002, 10:54 PM after finding ******** that do that crap we should be aloud to rip the awd on there faces!

jk147 09-17-2002, 03:17 AM I keep my WRX dirty and untouched from the exterior to avoid haters. :D
But I did have about 8 door dings all together from various careless drivers. argh.

Yeah it is a sad world when I feel like cleaning my car and making it look good might be the wrong thing to do because it will attract too much bad attention.
Megabass I am really sorry to hear about your car. Is you car stock looking or have you modified the exterior at all?
Uncle Scotty 09-17-2002, 10:08 PM See if 'Wally Mart" has security cameras of the area, and if so, see if the act was 'caught on tape', and if so....go from there.
Sorry about the 'hate'.
Scott
