Well, someone's hatin' on me. I went out last night to a club and I've noticed that everytime I get back and disarm the alarm, the signal telling me that the alarm has been set off comes up. After thorough inspection of the car, nothing. Last night, same thing, or so I thought.



I drove along and kept hearing this tapping sound coming from the left side of my car that went according to my speed. It was late at night, so I couldn't find anything on the tires. I headed home.



This morning, went to work, and on the way home, heard a different sound. As I approached the house, my alignment was out of whack and I step out of my car for an inspection. My tire was completely flat!!!



After putting on the spare tire, I inspected the tire to find a hole and what seemed to be the marking of a large screw right smack dab in the center of the tire. Damn!



Just as I was gettin' ready to go, my friend's dad noticed that there was also a nail on the rear left tire (first tire was the left front). It was also right smack dab in the center of the tire!



I don't know if it's me or my car or both that the perps are hatin'! Oh well, enough venting. Sorry if this belongs in the Off-Topic.

Don't get so paranoid yet. Anybody who is going to follow you around causing mayhem to your car is going to do a lot worse than set off your alarm and put nails in the tread of your tire. I honestly don't think anybody would waste their time trying to stick a nail in the tread of your tire, when the irreparable sidewall is so much easier to acess.

YEAH... hopefully it was just a weird incident... now...

watch your car as carefully as you can...

something like that happens again... in the NEAR future.. i'd start going... hmmmmmmmmm....

you probably just ran over some screws. whenever i go out my alarm has always been set off too. people like to park next to our cars with their systems all the way up until our alarms go off very stupid.

BUT, if you feel like getting all freaked out.

My take on the nails. Two in the center at the same time? Seems like a stretch to call that a coincidence... Sure the side wall is easier to get to, but then it takes more time than just leaning a nail or screw up against the tire in front and back so it goes between the threads and imbeds itself when you drive away. That is how I'd do it, less obvious than trying to hammer a nail into the sidewall and the tire looks fine till after you've driven on it for a while...

Do you have a video camera? If you have access to one, park under a light and aim the camera at it at night. Then if something happens hopefully it happened before the tape ran out. People do this when they start to think something fishy is going on, if you catch someone it goes a long way toward your case that someone is messing with your ride. Couldn't hurt.

Thanks for your input guys. Now that I think about it, I'm just glad that nothing happened when I was driving home on the freeway at 3am. I'm pretty sure that this was done on purpose. bemani - Possibly, but they happened on different years, so I doubt it's the same people.

i would do what "Lifino" said...get a vid cam and aim it at your car at nite...just start recording at around midnite.....we had similar problems with my family two cars getting slashed....waking up every other morning with flats was not fun...eventually caught the guy on video doing it
