This is tooo weird. I'm confused like no other. PM's are dead-ends. I can't figure out the Buddylist deal. I want to send a PM! I don't want to lose all my old PM's too much to print out. Grrrrrrrrrr

I agree w/ the PM part, though I think that everything else just takes getting used to. Maybe just a few bugs to work out. BTW, how do we pm with this new format?

Ditto to all. These new smileys are pretty ugly too. I thought I lost my post count too. Scared me!

It loads just as fast for me now, after visiting 5 times. No problems with PM's for me. Love the new quick UBB code buttons and smilies. :D

My PM's are all gone. They had lots of important stuff in them. I am not a newbie and I really wish they just left good enough alone.

Ok, then. How do I send a new pm, say, to someone that hasn't posted yet?

I am going to have to agree here... I really liked how smooth the old style board was. This new interface seems rather clunky. I also miss having the locations/car type/ and # of posts next to my name.

We are still "tuning" the board. Will you guys stop crying. Give us some time and give yourself some time to get used to it. The previous format wasn't very popular in the begining either.

um, yeah. I agree with the boys. It looks ok, but the redlines are kind of out of place as well.

I was right in the middle of some major deals witht hte PM's as well.

Oh, and here is the biggest thing:
Screen res! we are almost all computer geeks and run decent monitrs and big resalutions. lets stretch this puppy out, it appears crowded.

Not that you asked my opinion, but everyone else was giving theirs so.....

I don't dislike this format, but it almost DOES look copied from the Supraforums. :(
I just liked how our club looked different from the others before. :(

I agree with the fact that it "looks" worse than it used to. Looks "cheap". The graphics/smilies and whatnot don't look very good at all. Mostly on the subject titles... I also don't like the fact that the post count an stuff is below the posts. That is just something that will take getting used to. Most of my gripes so far are just visual.

sweet, something else new to learn :)

but it's killing me for now :)

Prog
06-07-2001, 05:02 AM
this is a superior version of UBB, the older version was killing the server, so DEAL :D

once the board is tuned accordingly it will rock... so far the only thing i miss are the "view favorite forums only" option and the car/location info, the post count i could care less really, it discourages post whoring...

Nick
06-07-2001, 05:30 AM
I really don't need to hear the whinning right now!!!

Apparenlty most of you CANNOT READ! If you had taken the time to read the few posts on the board that explain what's going on you would know what's going on. I hate repeating myself!

You don't like what's going on, the door's right over there! *points to clubsi.com*

I will say it one last time... the board was upgraded out of NECESSITY, not want, or desire.

The look will get modified, over time, so please in the meantime, STOW IT!

Not Joking!

Keith
06-07-2001, 06:45 AM
damn ppl shut it! :)
This HAD to be done for server reasons
+
change is good
Shizat, when I started it was nothing like this, we didn't even have all these cool options and stuff.
Change happens, and I'm sure when they are done tunning it, it will run fine. Its just something to get used to.
No one liked the old forums but with time ppl started to like it.
I dont know how many ppl I see using  , well that came with change also
Just calm down and stop being beochs! they have it under control, they have had it under control for 2 years already!
Jeez

Well, I can't say that I hate it, because I don't. Logging in is a little more tedious, but thats about all. I kinda like the post number being gone...no one can see just how new I really am. :D :p

Ok, then, I guess it will take time. Generally, though, bloated S/W does not translated into better performance, though they certainly could have optimized things here and there to deal with load.

The board seems very slow to me right now (and generally unstable), but maybe theories on 'caching' will pull through. I hope for the sake of those putting in the work that this is true. I'm not gonna cross my fingers, though, been in this business far too long to bet on these things...

Look/feel, yeah I have to agree. Perhaps the first thing on the change-request list to fix once stability concerns are addressed.

The smilies in subjects look like anime characters who've been chased down and had their heads shrunk by head-hunters. :p

I have to agree there are some things that are just plain different, but some can be addressed right away and others are gonna take some time.

I'm seriously taking stock in the caching thing now, the board is much faster than it was all day, apparently it does take about a day for the threads to get cached by the program.

As far the the post icons... I agree they are a bit strange from the old ones... but it's just a matter of getting used to them.

Just give me time... you have to understand not all these things happen overnight. Last upgrade I had time to apply all the hacks before the board went live. I didn't get that luxery this time.

Trust me... it will get better.

It should be fine once it is all tweeked out and some past features are back in. I don't want to go back and forth from the old to new so I'll hang in there.

still don't know what this is http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/icons/icon8.gif

Thanks Nick for the hard work. :D

note need the spell check back
