Since I'm sure not everyone is aware of http://www.egroups.com/group/SPCR I'll post here and bump it closer to the event time.

Bandimere Speedway Morrison, CO
Gates Open : 7:00am
Registration Closes: 9:30am
Tech Closes: 9:45am

Be prepared for all kinds of weather. That hill side can do strange things with the weather. Also, bring food and water. There is very little around the site and they're pretty stricked on letting cars in & out while the event is going on.

See you Sunday!!!

-Rolando (aka Strepto or Ro thanks to Kabong http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/tongue.gif)

I'll most likely be there. Not sure what car I'm going to run though. I might just use the ITR, since it's the last year it's going to be in GS. I guess I have until the summer series to decide.

for some reason I see you enjoying the ITR more anyway http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/tongue.gif

hehe, I dunno... I love driving the RS. And I'd like it more with a good ST setup and race tires. I'm thinking I'll give GS a run with the ITR on race rubber. That'll give me another season to get the RS ready for ST... if it survives the rallycross season... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

Just out of curiosity, how many Subarus usually run in STS/SM around here? Back in VA it wasn't unusual to have at least 10 in STS, not many in SM though. And do you get fun runs at the end of the autox? We got to know each other back there so well we'd leave the keys in the car, it wouldn't be surprising to see your car take off and go blasting around the track. Of course then you could just hop into anyones car you wanted and do the same. But then again, it would just plain suck when they'd sometimes beat your best time. But we had G.H Sharp, Tim Aro, Eric Kriemelmeyer, Sam Strano, Ross Atwell, Eric Petersen, in our group, all SCCA autox, ProSolo champs or damn close at one time or another. Oh, and I can't forget to mention Karen Kraus, ladies open champ at Topeka this year.

Show up on Sunday and see how many Subies are there http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif At the first Autox school this summer we had A BUNCH, like 15. These are some regulars:

Larry Ganz- 2000 White Ran STS last year, SM now.

JJ Cassa- (ME) 2000 BRP Ran STS last year, STP this year.

Rolando Rios- 1999 RBP Ran STS last year, rumor is he's going DSP ?!?! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

Will Sweat- 2000 BRP Ran STS last year, no news yet for this year.

Eric Andersen- 2000 BRP Ran GS last year, is he even running the RS this year or the ITR??

There are some others that I am sure that I have missed that show up up on occasion. A pretty good showing, I think http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif

why does it cost so much to just go and watch? http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/frown.gif that sucks we should get some kinda discount for havin some of the nicest rides there http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif or just for something i dont know.....

I thought you ment run in the event by "entry" in your post. You can show up and watch for free. Sorry about the confusion.

-Rolando

PS I am indeed running DSP this year. Remember that Chris Dorsey is running a CP CRX and not the Fiat (woohoo!!). Should be a good class. Also (no offense to anyone), I think STP/R is a joke. If you're going to take the time and money to spend on race tires then you must be somewhat serious about the sport and should run your respective SP class. Also, STP/R is not a national standard. If you plan to run any national events you'll have to run in your proper SP class.

ohh allriighhtyyy then http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif should be fun as long as the weather holds out http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif

Weather?
Bring on the snow so those racing can show off 'the beauty of all wheel drive.' http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif
Actually, it'd be nice if it stayed warm, but I think its supposed to cool off by the weekend. See you all there.

I gotta ask. Are they picky about tech inspections? I have kumho 712's, int, ex., ss lines, T-chip, short shifter. I heard SS lines were the only fuss. I'd love to see if I can catch and itr now :P BIIIIGGG HINT!!!!

Yes, they are picky about teck inspections. Anything that is going to be a safety hazard is right out!!
I don't now what you're talking about with SS lines. It's something very common in an upgraded brake system.
Just run in the right class. We'll kick your ass if you don't!! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/tongue.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/cool.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif

Bandimere's surface isn't too bad. It's all about fun anyway http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif If the surface is slick it'll be even easier on your tires. Can't hurt to try it out http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif

That's right, Ro, I should go into DSP so I CAN KICK YA ASS!! http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/s/net8/lol2.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif Just kidding!! They ran STP at the national tour if I remember right, but I have three events to pick my class for the summer season. If I get mys suspension upgraded, then I may run DSP. I'm thinking of Ground Controls, BTW.

Dave-

NO it doesn't cost anything to come and watch unlike those drag-race events http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

See you guys this weekend, in a way I am wishing for snow so we can throw up some 'tails but on the other hand, I want to use my new Kumhos. Either way, I win http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

Does it actually cost $$ to go and watch?
I was assuming that the $25 was only if you were racing. I want to come and watch, but maybe not if I'd have to pay (don't want to race quite yet).

DaveK, that's a no-no. You can't do any "tire-warming" anywhere on the lot. Plus it's just not safe. I'm sure you'd get booted.

DaveK
01-12-2001, 07:14 PM
I was just curious. I've never been to an autocross before. At least I know now and won't get booted. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

hmm...anyone have the link to the rookie's guid to autoX (or something like that)? I don't remember for the life of me where it's at! Didn't Tirerack have one?

El Kabong
01-13-2001, 06:37 PM
Here's a link to one of the handbooks...
http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm

And in regards to the above post about leaving your keys in your car and "hopping" into someone elses car... hehehe... I wouldn't try that out here. This is definitely not that type of region. We all watch over everyone elses stuff, especially at Coor's Field events, it is downtown and you have lots of "outsiders" wandering around. Everyone locks their cars when they aren't there and doesn't take too kindly to people snooping through their stuff. Not to give you the impression that people aren't friendly, feel free to look under hoods and ask questions, just don't be making yourself too much at home in someone elses car.

Hopefully we'll see you all out there. I'll be in the yellow ITR parked by all the Subarus... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif

One more thing Tangmere, if you think you were in good company in VA... you haven't seen anything yet. Colorado must have the most National champs of any state... GS, ESP, ESPL, FSP... and I'm sure there's more... must be the thin air... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/wink.gif There's a ton of good drivers out here.
