View Full Version : So, how many of you are doing the ice autox next weekend? Tangmere 01-20-2001, 11:44 AM Should be a decent weekend, JC Sports on Saturday, Rainbow Falls on Sunday. jImp 01-20-2001, 04:37 PM Aww, I want to go but I'm not free that weekend. Well, have fun at the meet. ImprezaL 01-20-2001, 05:22 PM Is anybody even goin to JC Sports on Sunday? I couldn't get Saturday off... Tangmere 01-20-2001, 05:53 PM Strepto, Doesn't really matter to me. What times good for you? I was debating whether or not to put on my 17's, but it seems kinda silly to do it for a day since I've got the ice autox the next day. I ordered the passenger side Sparco seat today, I doubt I'll have it in time for Saturday. Strepto 01-21-2001, 12:45 AM What time do you plan on being at JC Sports? I was going to ask you at the autoX to try out your seat but forgot. I'm considering getting a Sparco myself JJTheSubeDriver 01-21-2001, 06:19 PM Next weekend is a Scoobie weekend for me http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif JCS on Saturday and Ice Race on Sunday http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/biggrin.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smile.gif JJ El Kabong 01-22-2001, 08:48 AM Same with my JJ, JCS on Saturday, probably around 1ish? Then ice racing on Sunday, weeee!!! I hope the ice is good... El Kabong 01-22-2001, 08:49 AM hmm, can't delete your own posts anymore... bummer... [This message has been edited by El Kabong (edited January 22, 2001).] DaveK 01-22-2001, 05:56 PM Anybody have the time schedule for the rainbow falls race? I had a link, but I deleted it. Thanks for the help. bratmantlz 01-22-2001, 09:23 PM i was going but i guess i should save what tread i have left on my RS http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif if anyone takes pics at the jcsports thing and there are some sweet subes there i would love to see the pics of what i missed. Tangmere 01-22-2001, 09:27 PM This is from the Rally Chairman: This is your second notice. Pete Mathewson Rally Chairman Continental Divide Region - SCCA Will 01-23-2001, 11:41 AM If my winter tires come in Friday, I will definitely be there -Will DaveK 01-23-2001, 01:34 PM If we want to race is there anything that we need to do before showing up at 8:30 on sunday? Thanks for the times. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif El Kabong 01-23-2001, 03:26 PM I don't think there's anything that you have to do. We'll all have to register the day of the event. Just bring some ID and money. I'm sure they'll accept checks. If you have an SCCA card, bring that and you'll get $5 off entry fees. Anyone have a time estimate from Denver? I was figuring on 2.5 hours. bratmantlz 01-23-2001, 03:49 PM 2.5 hours the back way or out of tha springzz? it should take approx uhh i guess that sounds right. elkabong can you post the link for the map to the ice races again i lost it. i might be able to go watch i am thinking about putting my fronts on the rear and the rears on the fronts so i can go to this and the jcsports events. i hope i can go. http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif those are cool El Kabong 01-23-2001, 04:12 PM Here's the page with good info... especially the part about bringing warm footwear... could be cold working the course... http://www.unixbox.com/~maverick/PPSCC/ice.html Strepto 01-23-2001, 04:38 PM Remember this is a PPSCC event and not an SCCA event. That $5 rebate doesn't apply here. Just pointing this out http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif DaveK 01-23-2001, 05:53 PM How many people are planning on going. Would people like to meet up to head down there? Also, how are people planning on going? Thru the springs or taking 285 to 67(I think)? I live on 285 in Englewood and would meet up somewhere along the way if people were interested. Time/Place? bratmantlz 01-24-2001, 06:31 AM an Impreza caravan to the ice races http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif i live in tha springzz. if everyone does want to roll up there in force sounds spiffy to me. let me know i am looking forward to going, and seeing what this is all about. although elkabongs warm footwear comment has me dreading the cold(bolts in my ankle and all) oh well just going to have to tolerate it. i am one going davek http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif Tangmere 01-24-2001, 09:02 AM I'm coming down from Boulder. So I'll meet you lot there, keep an eye out for a dirty Black '98 RS. I shall bring a trunk full of extra clothes if Bandimere is anything to go by. See you there (and at JC Sports), Mark El Kabong 01-24-2001, 10:00 AM I'm probably going to be leaving from Erie around 6am and I'm going down I25. I don't know if meeting is going to be a good idea, but we can talk about it Saturday at the JCSports thing. ImprezaL 01-24-2001, 08:45 PM How late will you all be at JC's on Saturday? I don't get off work till 6 http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif, but don't they close early? DaveK 01-25-2001, 12:03 AM Sounds good to me. See you all at JCSports. bratmantlz 01-25-2001, 07:12 AM i will be there saturday and does anyone know were john elway subaru is? looking to pickup a plate frame for a friend. also what time is saturday looking 12:30-1 ish? at jc's http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/ptitmartien.gif DaveK 01-25-2001, 07:40 AM I believe the subaru dealer is about 1/2 mile East of I-25 on Arapahoe. Strepto 01-25-2001, 08:41 AM Looks like I'll be there between noon and 1. I don't know what exit number it is http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif Turn east on 104th and go to Irma Drive. Turn North on Irma, and it is in the industrial park at 107050 Irma Drive, Number 24 at the east end of the Park. You shouldn't have any trouble, it sounds like there is going to be a lot of Subies there. So if you just look for something that looks like a Subaru Dealership in that area, you should find it http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif JJ bratmantlz 01-25-2001, 06:48 PM ohh i know what it looks like jj, i have been to the new place once i just forgot the exact way there, thanks by the way http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/lildevil.gif forgot its supposed to snow http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif yes, oh wait tires suck http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif no. oh well see you all there [This message has been edited by bratmantlz (edited January 26, 2001).] Will 01-26-2001, 02:47 PM Crap! I will not be going to the ice race Sunday. This morning I got a call from Discount telling me my tires are in. So, during my lunch I go there, pay for the tires, watch RE730's go off the car. Then I hear "Mr.Sweat. One of the tires was mis-shipped, the size is 215/55 16 on the one. We'll have the right tire in on Monday." AAaarrrgghhh! http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif -Will El Kabong 01-26-2001, 04:16 PM Ah man, that sucks! Well, you could always run on your 730's, it would still be a riot. JJTheSubeDriver 01-26-2001, 04:26 PM Will: Are you going to be at JCS Saturday? I want to talk at ya about something. If you want, you can co-drive my car. I don't have snows, just the RE-92's, but they were converted to snows this morning http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/smile.gif Let me know. Page me at 540-6899 JJ Will 01-26-2001, 04:28 PM That would be a cool idea except: 1 The drive to and from there would suck 2 I've already tried drifting, even doing donuts on the 730's. That sucked even more. 3 The race would be no fun as I would plow into every snow bank at 5mph (Ref statement #2) -Will Will 01-26-2001, 04:29 PM JJ Yes I will be at JC's tomorrow. -Will JJTheSubeDriver 01-28-2001, 09:44 AM Sorry I didn't make it to JCS because I'm sicker than a dog with the flu http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif Hope you guys had fun and those of you going to the race also had fun. This really sucks... Of all the times to get the flu it just had to pick one of my FUN weekends http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gifhttp://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/mad.gif JJ Strepto 01-28-2001, 09:52 AM that sucks JJ. Hope you feel better. I'm being a wuss and not going to the race. To far away and with the roads being as bad as they are, it'd be even worse. If some of you guys went I hope you had fun and got there and came back safe!! Tangmere 01-28-2001, 09:05 PM Ro, I didn't think about it till late last night that you could've ridden down with me co-driven my car, oh well. I left at about 6:30am and got there at about 8:45. It was a either a large pond or a small lake, your choice. There were 4 Imprezas (one of which didn't enter), one Legacy turbo wagon, an OBS, and a smattering of older Subies. Including these there were around 40 cars total, a pretty good turn out considering the weather and the Super Bowl. All in all, I think everyone had a great time. And I found out I know a hell of a lot less than I thought I did about driving on ice! But by the last run I don't think I stunk up the place too bad. Next event is Feb 11th, be there! bratmantlz 01-30-2001, 12:35 AM Textdamnit that looked fun. i need my tires soon so next race i should be driftin some turns away. it was colder than shiznit so i stayed in the RS but for the most part was cool (no pun intened) http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif Strepto 01-30-2001, 09:24 AM Mark, I appreciate the offer, but with the road conditions it would have been quite a task to get to Boulder from Ft. Collins. My trip back from JC Sports wasn't exactly a fun one either. The roads got really bad up here around 6pm. I think it's time to start looking for yet another set of rims and some snow tires. El Kabong 01-30-2001, 02:26 PM Yeah, Ro, running around with snow tires is a blast. Check out Tire Rack. Dunlop Graspic HS-1's, 195/65-15 and new steel wheels, all for $480. Delivered second day FedEx. Definitely worth it, then you can run the rallycross series too... http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/wink.gif |
